Question about Sewing Machines
Be sure to clean the hook and feed dog area. Consult the owner's manual.
If it is a mechanical machine (do NOT do this if it is a computerized machine), it could very well be seizing due to old oil drying and preventing the parts from moving. A couple drops of liquid Tri-Flow Synthetic Lube applied to spots where metal moves against metal may be helpful. Do NOT oil belts, plastic gears. Applying hot air from a handheld hairdryer may also be beneficial.
You may want to take it for service, because it probably hasn't had any maintenance for quite some time. Continued use of the machine while the motor is laboring could cause motor damage.

Hi, I downloaded (for free) a copy of the Envision 8006 (and 8007 supplement) manual from the Elna website 2 1/2 years ago. The Envision 8007 is the same as the Janome Memory Craft 5700. I can email you a copy of the manual.
