Display says "base unit no power" Is this fixable?

this is not a battery issue the actual unit that plugs into the phone socket and has a radio transmitter has no power. Look at the AC adapter plugged into the power point of the radio base device. Most likely someone has unplugged it or the AC adapter has gone faulty.
It is fixable check the AC adapter is plugged in and the power point is switched on. you should be able to buy another AC - DC adapter if it has gone faulty.

Now it is saying check tel line

There's some problem with the phone's ability to detect a dial tone. Check that the phone's base is connected to your home's AC power and the telephone cord is securely connected at the phone base and wall jack. If still not working, continue checking by disconnecting the cord from the base and connecting a different working phone. If the phone does not work while connected to this cord - there's a problem with the cord. Try replacing the cord between the jack and phone. If it still won't work - you may need to contact your telephone company's repair service to get it fixed. Good luck!

I have a panasonic phone set tg1103. I used it in a previous house and now cannot get it to work in my new home. How do i reset it to find my phone line. Do i need to set it to factory settings and if...

You should not have to do anything to make the base find the phone line as long as it's plugged into a working phone jack and the AC power is on.

Have you tested the phone jack where you are connecting the base to be sure it's working? You can check with a simple, basic corded type phone. (You should have one of these on hand anyway, in case your power goes out. Without AC power, cordless phones won't work since their base unit would be off. The basic corded phone gets its power from the phone line so it will keep going. It's a good thing to have.) Plug the phone in and see if you have dialtone at the jack. You don't know what kind of phones the former residents had and how their jacks were wired. The one you're using may have been set up on a second line, for example.

If you don't find dialtone at the jack, you can try others and move the base unit as necessary, or see about having the wiring corrected. The model number of your phone is a UK version, and I don't know the rules regarding who can do telephone wiring there. Here in the US you can do the work yourself, hire a contractor, or contact the telephone service provider.

If you find the jack is working, something may have happened to the cordless base unit during the move. Try another cord; maybe the one you're using was damaged. Then your remaining option is to see about servicing or replacing the phone if it's still not working.

Relocated to new house - disconnected phones and have them recharging - forgot what I have to do to have them connect to get dial tone - recall it was something very simple. thanks

This is posted under a "cellular phones" heading, but I'm going to assume you have cordless phones that you're trying to hook up again.

Remember that the base unit needs to be plugged in to power and also to your telephone line. So be sure the base location is near an AC outlet and that there is a phone jack somewhere nearby. You may also want to verify that the phone jack you'll be using is actually working. It may not be connected, or may be wired to a second phone line. You never know when you move in. Plugging in a plain old corded phone will let you check for dialtone.

Plug in the base unit power, connect it to the phone jack and put the handset on the base and you should be back in business. If you have a phone system with multiple handsets, you'll need to place each one on the base to register it.

This should get your phones working if you have a regular landline coming in to your new home. If you use an Internet phone service like Vonage or you have service from a cable company, you may have to get someone to check the wiring if you don't have dialtome appearing at the jacks.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!

  1. Place the handset in the base.
  2. Unplug the AC power adapter from the telephone base.
  3. Disconnect all the telephone lines from the telephone base.
  4. Allow the telephone base to remain without power for 1 minute.
  5. Connect all the telephone lines to the telephone base.
  6. Plug the AC power adapter back into the telephone base.
