SOURCE: Pilot wont stay lit

A short pilot flame not playing on the thermocouple or a faulty thermocouple , loose connection at the gas where thermocouple is ,

blocked pilot flame to small , air in gas line did he purge the gas line first? other wise you will be there a long time .

SOURCE: My husband ran a gas

Make sure that you are holding down the button long enough to heat up the thermocouple before you let go . The thermocouple needs to be hot enough to signal the presence of flame or the gas valve will stop sending gas to the pilot. If you are letting it get hot, but still have the same problem, the unit may have a bad thermocouple. This is the thin copper tube that goes from the gas valve to the pilot.

SOURCE: how can i split an existing gas line to hook up my

Just put a "TEE" into the line. Make sure you use "BLACK IRON" pipe fittings on gas lines. Galvanized will create problems and you will not only have leaks in the future, galvanized pipe in gas lines is a violation of almost every building code.

Have a honeywell hot point gas furnance how do I bleed the lines

Never heard of bleeding them, but everything i\'ve bleed and its been alot in 60 years...anyway the way that i was taught and have seen, you go to the last movable joint on the line, loosen it a bit ....but 1st make sure theres no open flames, sparks anything of that type fact if you have aluminium pipe wrench, they don,t spark....anyway after pipe is loosened things are safe all around, airy area if possible...turn on gas a little and loosen the joint a little more until you can smell gas at the loose fitting, hand tighten joint, shut off gas all in same motion, just to get it done...Then carefully tighten joint, most heater pipes are using spark proof piping anyway......your through bleeding it .But check other sites or opinions to double check if you want...

We noticed water beginning to mist out of what appears to be the supply line (the braided line, not the copper line). That same braided line is connected to the line in the wall...and the top of the water...

If you can shut the cold water off at the water heater you should not have to turn the water off outside. Drain hot water from taps at lowest point in house, hook a hose up to boiler drain at base of WH and drain some water from here. Do as you stated and shut gas off to be safe. Change supply line.

Heater still lets out heat

Hi, if you can't find the pilot shut off, all wall heaters have a gas line that supplies gas to it, the main line at the unit. There should also be a gas flex line going to it. It will have a valve on it to shut gas down to the unit for the summer. This will solve your problem. You will have to look for it, as it may be hidden from site for looks and decoration. You will find it.

How do you hook up the gas line

Is there a gas line at the installation location? If you mean where on the heater, Then please tell me why you ask? Isn't it sticking out the side or back? If not, you may have to take a panel off that should have a hole in it and install a fitting to hook the flewable gas line. Its ther and the main gas valve is or should have a open threaded hole the fitting goes into. The flex line come with the fittings.. Good Luck, Ned

My heater will shuts off automatically

lp or natural gas sounds like moisture in the line look for a trap should look like a tee with a cap on it turn off gas and remove cap and see if any moisture in line replace cap and turn on gas check for leaks with soapy water and a small brush if not moisture it could also be air in line if so it will bleed itself out in a little while and work normally
