SOURCE: Dual 1228 turntable platter not spinning, the motor will not turn

If the motor is not spinnig then it is probably seized. These motors are very robust and rarely need replacement parts. Remove both the top and bottom bearings, clean shaft and bearings with solvent and then fill bearings with light machine oil. The bearings have a sponge inside which will soak up lots of oil for years of trouble free use. Once reassembled, tap the bottom bearing while the motor is spinnig and the bearings will centre themselves. If the idler and it's mechanism is working ok as well then you should feel lots of torque from the from the platter when it is spinning.

This is not a question about a dryer! I have a Sears 10 inch Radial Arm Saw. How do I switch the motor from 220 volts to 110??

If the motor is a dual voltage type the instructions might be printed inside the motor cover or alternatively in the saw handbook.

It is important to find the correct instructions and to follow them exactly.

Dual 1218 turntable

Does it say anywhere you can find that this turntable can run off 220V mains? Most are run directly from the AC and the motor is an induction motor meaning it needs a specific voltage and cycles per second to run properly. You may find that the manufacturer provided straps on the motor that can be unsoldered and changed to adapt to various voltage and ithat the speed can be altered via a speed control knob on the top to adapt to 50 or 60 cycles.

I need a wiring diagram for the Hobart H600 which has a multi tap motor on and i would like to change the voltage on the motor to 200volt single phase 120/208 or even 120208 3phase. The wiring diagram is...

You cannot wire a three phase motor for single phase and you cannot wire a single phase motor for three phase. If you have a three phase dual voltage motor your options are 220 or 440 volts. If you have a single phase dual voltage motor your options are 120 or 240 volts. A 208 volt Hobart motor will only function correctly on 208 volts and is not dual voltage.

I want to re wire an electric motor for low volt

Look on the name plate. If it says under 'volts' 120/240 that means it's dual voltage and you can use either voltage to run.

My air conditioner fan motor runs in reverse thus, none or very little air is coming out

The fan motor can be wired correctly for up flow and still run backwards for downward flow or reverse when you put the wrong value capacitor or connect a hard start capacitor to an already bad start dual cap. Case in point: I come across a condenser where the fan motor is running (in the right direction, up) but the compressor is not. I put a hard start cap on the dual cap. The compressor comes on but now the fan motor runs reverse. No other wiring was changed. The hard start cap connected to the defective compressor start cap shifted the current, voltage phase 180 degrees to make the fan motor run backwards. I removed the hard start cap, removed the defective dual cap and replaced the dual cap with a known good one and everything worked correctly.

Neptune dryer

there is no transformer in the dryer, i am guessing you have a 110 v motor and when you hooked the plug wrong, you could have supplied the motor with 220 v that's why you can smell something burnt.

the heater is 220 volts. regular dryer has dual voltage supply. 110 v and 220 volts.

tnx 4 using fixya,
