If there is sever arcing at the brushes, it could be the armature , armature bearings or the windings
tripping a breaker is either overload ( short) or insulation failure causing an imbalance in the breaker causing it to trip
take the machine in for a proper inspection and diagnosis

How do i fix my dewalt 55155 air compressor

It is a 15 amps motor and will need 6 times (90) that amount of amps to start up. Plugging it into a 15 amps circuit may work but a 20 amps circuit is more apropiate. Kitchen circuits are 20 amp circuits.
You can try plugging the compressor directly into the wall and see if it refills with air without trippiing the circuit breaker. Using an extension cord should be done with a #12 or #10 wire gage type, smaller type will cause a power loss in the cord and will cause the compressor motor to trip the circuit breaker.
Power formula is I square R, or the amps multiplied by itself and by the resistance of the wire. E.G. 90x90x4 = 3200 watts. This is at start up. To find the voltage drop divide the watts by current, 3200/90 = .... get the point? Keep voltage drops to a minimum, use heavy wire gage extension cords.

Brand new out the box dw716 dewalt compound dual bevel miter saw cut one board & quit. Left it alone for about 10 minutes & it worked when we came back. Made about 10 more cuts & it stopped again. We are...

I would return it to the store, or have it fixed under warranty. You obviously have a defective saw. Dewalt is a reputable company, and they make high quality tools, but defects do op up once in a while from all manufacturers.
It sounds like your saw has a defective heat sensor, and it is sensing the temperature incorrectly and shutting the saw off to protect it.

My vax cleaner trips the breaker on my consumer panel after about 30 seconds use. If I reset the breaker it will then operate for a similar time then trip again

It sounds like the windings or brushes in the motor are bad and draw too much current. Perhaps you sucked up too much water once and got the motor wet. I would take it to an electrics repair shop and have them check the brushes.

Dewalt d55153 runs continually trying to get up to pressure, but can't.

Just a guess but I think you have broken the rings inside. If you keep running it with broken rings you will trash the cylinder inside. I think you can buy a new pump for it if you are not mechanically minded.

My DW384 circular saw keeps tripping the GFI receptacle

Most houses have all the outdoor GFI outlets on one breaker...perhaps you can try another power tool with a similar draw to check if it is your saw or the GFI causing your problem. I can't see bad brushes causing a breaker to trip... the saw would just stop working.

I have a UST GG5500 portable generator and it will not produce electricity. The engine starts fine but it doesnt generate any power.

Check your circuit breakers to see if they are tripped or damaged. Then take a look in the end of alternator / generator at the field windings. Check for damage to the brushes, as well as the diode for continuity in 1 direction only. Look for damaged capacitor regulator. Replace as needed.

Compressor won't sstay running and trip breaker

You gave a lot of information, but you didn't say if it worked when free wheeling. If not, I would suspect the inertia switch. If it is working, you should hear it click when the motor is winding down after being shut off, at least when free wheeling. A 20 amp breaker will certainly handle a 15 FLA motor, even on startup. They don't trip at 20 amps exactly, especially on a simple overload. Even at twice the rated amperage, it can take several minutes to trip it. They will trip quickly on a dead short, however, or a severe overload. I doubt the windings are shorted or it either wouldn't work (start windings) or would run at a slower speed with the inertia switch constantly tripping in and out with it coasting while tripped in (i.e., accelerate, coast, accelerate, coast, etc.)

Trips breaker, windings not open, no continuity from windings to frame. startsfor split second then trips breaker. Breaker is ok

ASSUMING THIS IS SINGLE PHASE HAVE YOU CHECKED THE CAPACITORS. START CAPACITOR COULD BE BAD OR BURNT LEAD. HAVE YOU MADE SURE THE PUMP IS NOT LOCKING UP. POINTS IN THE PRESSURE SWITCH LOOK GOOD. HOPE THIS HELPS, JODY

Why does my dw831 grinder keep tripping circuit breakers?

try checking the brushes.

to do this: remove the 2 small covers on the left and right side of the tool and push aside the coil spring holding in the brush. the brush should freely pull out of the holder.

when you have the covers off, look for charring or melting. and after the brushes are out, rotate the arbor to move the armature inside and look to make sure it's not charred.

if that doesnt help, take apart the handle and look for melted or exposed wire. dewalt likes to pack the wires in tight among the screws and sometimes the normal vibration of the tool will cause a screw to cut into a wire and short the wire.

new brushes and holders (if melted) are usually around 20 dollars US
