SOURCE: Hooking a Wii to Dish Network reciever(not a hd tv)

It sounds like you have a pretty new TV. This means that there should be multiple AV jacks in the back for setting up your many components. Plug in the receiver into #1, the Wii into #2, and any other equipment you may have (DVD, VCR etc.) in the same way. You should then use the original TV remote to switch between Video 1, 2, 3 and so one for each compnent you want to use. The button on the remote will be labeled video, tv/video, input select, or input, something like that.

Hope this helps!!

What channel does my tv need to be on? and what button do i press on my dish network remote to get me to the wii screen

Usually it depends on how you connected to the TV/satellite box- for instance, I have mine set on channel AUX 1 since I have connected my Wii to the TV using the component cables (the red yellow and white cables) to the port AUX 1. If you've hooked it to the Dish box, then it would be whichever accessory you connected is the channel to select in the dish system, but on the channel that your dish is hooked up (it's situational!)

Where do i find INPUT SELECTon zenith tv sy2779dt,trying to hook up Wii and default Wii screen does not come up. manual says to change IS. don't have orig remote, only dish 500.is there a way to change IS...

Hello,
Most tv's have a physical button on the front and it will either be labeled input or source-source select. If thats not the case on your tv, look for a menu button and try to navigate through the tv menus until you find tv input or source select. If that still does not work, you can use your dish 500 remote and if you already use that to turn the tv on and adjust volume, you can probably use it to change the input. To do this, select the tv mode on your dish 500 remote, and then press the source or input button until you get to where you need to be. Once thats done, make sure you return your remote to sat mode or you will not be able to control the dish reciever. Hope this was helpfull to you.
Thanks

Can i connect my wii console to my tv thru my dish network dvr

I hope that you have found the proper solution for this. The Wii console only has an "out" port, no "in" ports. This means that you can only connect the Wii to the tv, and nothing to the Wii, so you are not able to connect this between your receiver and tv.

Can I hook the wii to my dish receiver

Only if it has component in on the satellite receiver. You would than on your satellite remote have to switches modes to display it. Not the ideal way to hook it up. As new tv's have several inputs to choose from.

I can't figure out the input select

Try leaving the Wii on and switching the TV off then on. I have an old TV and this is the only way I can activate the AUX

However sometimes even this will not work and you have to plug the Wii into a DVD player or Video player then plug that into the Aux to get it to work
