Question about Tablets & eReaders

2 Answers

I was charged two times for the same order. One charge is $129.86 (the correct one) and I was also charged $129.88.

The order was placed on Black Friday for two kindle fires. I ordered them, got the shipping detail and saw that it had been scheduled to be sent to John Simmons in Houston. I caught the error and changed it a few minutes later, before it was scheduled to be sent out. Unfortunately when I got my statement from USAA there were two charges, and I didn't receive two orders, nor did I want to. Thanks for your help.

You shouldn't have changed it, you should have cancelled the order. When you press order, you set a chain of events into motion which you can't alter, only stop altogether. You will have to contact the customer service department via email or phone. Details will be in the confirmation emails.

Went to use it and it won't come on. Thought battery might be dead and plugged it in and it still won't come on.

Lithium ION batteries are usually rechargeable. The use mode for these batteries is that there are a set number of recharges that equate to the life of the battery. Usually that life is approximately 1,000 charges.
If you use your battery to 50% then recharge, you can do this ~2,000 times. As the life of the battery is used up, the maximum charge lessens which means where you may have had 8 hours of play time when the battery was new, you will only have 6 hours as the battery life is used up.
In order for a Lithium ION battery to recharge there must be at least a small amount of charge left as a "seed" for that recharge. If you drain a L-ION battery down to zero, it may never recharge again or the max charge will be reduced to an insignificant amount of the original full charge. eg instead of 8 hours you may only get 15 minutes, or 5 minutes, or no minutes.
You are much better off recharging when 50% depleted than using it up til your product stops.
L-ION batteries cannot be repaired only replaced. Most cheap products using L-ION batteries cannot have their batteries replaced.

Places like Batteries + are able to replace some tablet batteries.

Nexus 7 tablet not charging

Had the same issue just two months after buying mine last year. It must be a very common fault with these tablets. I think you may just be covered for one year, but go back to where you bought it and they can either send it away to be repaired or fix it instore. It is something to do with the charging connector inside the tablet being loose. Since it is not a big 'repair' to fix, they surely should do it free of charge.
My son-in-law, who knows these kinds of things, says that it can be repaired easily be anyone who can open the tablet corrrectly.
Good luck!

Kindle fire has no life at all. won't turn on or charge, also did the 50 second power button trick n nothing

There is a possibility that the charging port is damaged.
This is a common issue with Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire hd.
When charging the Kindle is the cord is forced or bent to the side it may cause the charging port to detach from the logic board.
The repair for this issue is soldering the part back in place.

Why so long when i'm charging my lenovo a1-07 ideapad

Frequent Charging Shortens Battery Life Frequent charging shortens the life span of a Lithium ion battery. Batteries should be charged only after they expend all their power. b> Switching Batteries Switching batteries helps preserve battery life: If a cell phone or computer user puts in a spare battery while separately charging the primary Lithium ion battery, that helps extend the life of both batteries. b> Removing Batteries Most laptops charge the battery when a user plugs in the AC adapter. Users can adjust this setting by changing the power options. Windows places this option in the Control Panel, while the Gnome Linux desktop places power options under "Administrative Tools". Cell phones incorporate their own power-saving features that the user usually cannot control. b> When to Replace a Lithium Ion Battery If a laptop battery does not hold a charge for more than a few minutes, a user must replace the Lithium ion battery if he wants to use the computer without an AC adapter. Other Ways to Extend Battery Life Storing a battery in a cool, dry environment causes a lithium-ion battery to last a little longer and reduces the frequency of needed battery replacements. Hope this helps.

know of similar problems. either the cable and connection end you have or the receiving end in the tablet. can be diagnosed by getting replacement charging cable. if the problem goes away then its the cable if not it is probably the receiving end in the tablet
