IT SOUNDS LIKE THE FAN CYCLE RELAY OR BOARD IS NOT MAKING THE FAN COME ON WHEN IT SHOULD THE BURNER SHUTS OFF PROBABLY BECAUSE IT REACHES THE HIGH LIMIT.

Bryant furnace

1) Shut power to furnace off, take panels off furnace.
2) Bottom part of furnace find the thermostat wires and make sure they are not touching each other where they connect control boards. You Should see Terminals R,G,W and Y.

3)This is a typical wiring if done by technician.
R=Power-should be red wire
W=Heat-should be white wire
G=Fan-should be green wire
Y=Cool-should be yellow or blue wire.

4) Disconnect the G terminal which is the fan leg and move it out of the way. Turn power on and turn thermostat up. The fan should not turn on until after the burners turn on. The fan should cycle off about 60secs. after the burner turns off.

5) If all of this happens make sure the wires at the thermostat are wired the same at the furnace Red to R and Green to G.
The color of wires you have may be different. But if the same colors are connected at the same terminals at the furnace and the thermostat, that is all that matters.

6) If you recently changed the thermostat, make sure the Rd or R terminal wire is not touching the G terminal wire at the thermostat.

Fi have a older furnace that operates like this. main burners will come on then the blower turns on and furnace continues to heat untill it shuts down on the high limit. there is no blockage on the cold...

Maybe there is a blockage in the air conditioning coil above the furnace? This happens when people have pets, or dont use filters. Single phase 120-240 volt motors won't run backwards if you reverse the wiring that's dc or three phase, you have to check the rotation of the wheel, the right rotation is usually marked on the blower case. Some motors will allow you to change the rotation but you have to check the wiring diagram. Also use new capacitors when they go bad the motor can run backward. God luck

My furnace heats up and then shuts down not kicking on blower

Your furnace is shutting off on the high limit switch because of this. You are having a problem with the blower motor. You need to check for power from the wires on the board that feeds the motor. If you have voltage, and your run capacitor is good, you have a faulty blower motor. If its a fan relay, the fan would start and run all of the time. Check power to motor right after furnace shuts the burners off.

You need to check the wiring to the limits and safety devices with are in a number of locations, make sure all connections are tight.The most common cause for the blower to run is the high limit device which is the one mounted above the burners on the flat metal panel with two wires.

I have an early 80's mobile home with an "intertherm gas atmospheric furnace" pilot light is lit but can't get the furnace to "fire". Seems as though the limit control is stuck open. ...

If your pilot light is lit then I would first check your thermostat. Make sure it is on heat setting and fan is on auto, turn stat up to where it should be calling for heat. If you don't get burner to light remove front cover from thermostat and see if it has a mercury switch, if it does move temperature selector up and down and see if you can see a spark in mercury switch vial. If y ou cannot see a spark remove screws that attach t-stat to base.Remove carefully and disconnect wires that go to r and w terminals on stat base. Temporarily connect these two wires together. This should make burner light if you have power to thermostat. If burner does light disconnect wires and replace thermostat. Also if you have a volt meter check across these two wires and see if you have power there. Should be around 24 volts a.c. If your thermostat has a fan on setting try that. If fan runs you know you have power to furnace The gas valve needs 24 volts to operate and inside the electric control box in furnace there is a transformer to step down 110-120 supply voltage to 24 volts. If transformer is working you should be able to hear a low buzz or humming sound. You can also check across gas valve terminals when t-stat is set for heat, you should read about 24 volts. If you have 24 volts to gas valve and it is not opening then you need to replace gas valve. The main purpose of the limit switches is to turn blower on when temperature in heat exchanger reaches fan on temp,shut off blower after burner shuts off and heat in heat exchanger reaches fan off temperature, and limit if temperature exceedes set point without blower coming on. I hope this helps you. Thanks

Gas valve opens and burner lights but the furnace blower does not start the blower will run in the on position. controlboard is a honeywell st9120c

Here is the specs for your board

Check the wiring to be sure you're getting all the inputs and proper timer settings.

It could be bad. (sometimes the fan relay goes bad)

RHEEM OIL FURNACE MODEL ROBD 067 LBEA BLOWER

You will likely need to install an isolation relay in the W circuit from the thermostat. Some thermostats rob a small current through the W circuit to power the thermostat. This small current can be enough to start the fan circuit timer. You can test this by disconnecting W at the furnace and allowing the timer to shut down. If the fan shuts off with the W disconnected you can install a simple relay.

The relay coil will be connected to Common on one side and the W from the thermostat to the other. Then you will run a wire from R on the furnace to the relay and from the N.O. Contacts to the W terminal on the furnace. This will kill that signal that is starting the timer and the W can steal it's power through the coil back to common.

The fan runs all the time.

Disconnect your thermostat from the wall. If the fan shuts off then you probably have a bad or miswired thermostat.
If it continues to run, disconnect the thermostat wires from the furnace. If this shuts the fan off then you have a problem with the thermostat wires.
If the fan continues to run with the thermostat wires off of the furnace,
then you have a problem with the furnace.
Even though the fan stays on...... does the furnace still work? If so I bet you have a bad or stuck blower relay. If the furnace does not function other than the blower than you most likely have a safety control that is open. Worst case you could have a bad circuit board.
Good luck.....
