Roper snowblower drive chain keeps coming off

sounds like you have either stretched chains or worn sprockets. Also check the outer bearing that the shafts fit into for wear. If they wear then the chain can't retain it's tension properly, get sloppy and then derail itself. Most likely your bearings is the problem.

Chain keeps coming off bar

The chain only comes off the bar if, the chain has become lose and de railed, or if the timber you are cutting is very springy and you are trapping it in the cut, our twisting it in the cut, if the saw is not oiling the chain correctly it will stretch and if not addressed will come off, once it has come off the drive links are usually damaged, you should realy start again with a new chain, when running close to a clean peice of wood you should a steady stream of chain oil coming from the end of the guide bar.

The engine starts but the chain does not move even when the throttle is applied and then it starts to smoke the whine does not sound like it has full power either

Can you move the chain by hand? If not, the chain brake may be set or damaged so that the chain cannot move. Is the chain adjusted extremely tight? Is bar oil getting to the chain? The smoke is probably coming from the clutch which is trying to drive the chain. The chain should be adjusted so that the chain just comes up to the lower bar edge, but allows free turning of the chain by hand. Get back to us if you need further help.

I have a whirlpool electric dryer. There is a chain coming out around the inside of the back area of the dryer. It has come out about 12 inches. What is that part and is it fixable?

ive never heard of a chain drive dryer cept commercial dryers use a chain drive your chain is most likely a safety chain that was once hooked to the wall its perpose was if a child opened the door and leaned or sat on the door the dryer would not tip over they use safety chains on ranges for the same reason hope this helps

On my electric chainsaw the chain keeps coming off

Remove the bar and chain. Lay the chain out on a bench or table to check it for any sideways bending or breakage of any of the links, missing cutting teeth or drive teeth. Make sure it is being properly oiled and sharpened. Check the bar for any damaged area around the chain groove and make sure the tip sprocket (if equipped) turns freely and has no tooth damage. Check the drive sprocket for tooth damage or missing teeth. Check the drive end oil passages that run from the large holes out to the chain groove on both sides for plugging. Tighten the chain to bring it up to the bar, but not so tight that it can't be moved by hand. Hope this helps!

I HAVE A POULAN PRO 260 42cc 18 inch THAT IS 5 yrs old REPLACED BAR AN CHAIN . WENT TO CUT SOME TREE LIMBS CAN NOT EVEN MAKE ONE FULL CUT AN CHAIN COMES OFF AFTER 4 TIMES WENT AN RENTED ONE.

Remove the new chain and compare it against the old one. Do the new drive teeth match the 'pitch' of the old chain? If incorrect, the chain cannot be adjusted properly and will 'climb' over the sprocket due to the chain teeth not matching the teeth on the drive sprocket. Getting the proper chain is the answer in this case. Hope this helps!

Chain comes off mcculloch electramac em250 chain saw

Adjust the chain until you can pull on it and it will come away from the bar but will not hang from the bar. If that does not solve your problem then the chain or drive gear is worn out. If the oiler is not working it is for sure worn out.

My electric chainsaw used to carve ice, chain stops while motor still spins when cutting ice

Is there some form of tensioner for the chain or do you believe it's the drive sprocket?Gas chainsaws have a bolt you can tighten which takes up the play in the chain. The drive sprocket is either on a key-way or clutch.I would remove the chain and check the drive sprocket. There must be a clutch to allow the motor to free spin until a given RPM would drive the chain. That clutch is suspect. You didn't give any information(make or model of chainsaw)that I could use to search for an answer for you.Try to work on that clutch,re-post if you need more help.
