Jerky turntable heating o.k. just very jerky, does it have a belt or direct drive? can i get a replacement motor?

Mick,
Most are a direct drive motor. You can usually turn your microwave on it's back and be able to access the drive motor through a panel on the bottom. It does have an electrical connection, so remember to unplug your microwave before working on it. Most microwave repair parts places should carry a new motor that will fit your unit. Hope this helps!

Samsung timesaver 1000w microwave turntable has stopped turning

Possible that the belt has failed, the motor has failed or the fault is the drive in the board. You need to start by checking the belt and motor.

Remove the plug and take the turn table out of the microwave cabin. Now keep the microwave rested on the side andopen the back pannel, you can see the turn table belt drive. If this is broken replace.if not trace the motor connection and mark them. Now heat the microwave in normal position, place the turn table and a cup of water.Close the door and switch on the microwave set for a minute. Now check the voltage on the motor line marked. If present ,then the motor is fault. If not the controller board is faulty, and must be traced. Can be the relay drive or the relay. hope the other sections are working fine.

The turntable makes noise and is jerky as it turns

I believe your turntable is belt driven as opposed to direct drive. Your little belt is nearing the end of its useful life, I think.

Remove the cabinet. Turn the oven on its back. Look at the bottom.

My Maytag microwave makes a loud sound and it stopped rotating (I have turned the rotator on several times).

this is due to the magnitron tube is arching and there is possibly grease or dirt around it .You may need to replace the microwave. The drive for this model may be belt driven and the belt is worn and slipping. Repairs for this is usually a lot more than a new microwave.

The turntable is either plastic gear driven or uses a belt. either way, it's usually all non metallic due to the microwaves. you'll need to see if the motor that drives these are turning by removing the case. this can be EXTREMELY dangerous as the radiation from the cylstron tube. if it's a simple as a belt, the part can be replaced. good place to go is www.repairclinic.com

Microwave turntable won't turn

You will have to take it out and then take off the outer cover to expose the drive system for the turntable unless the items turns with the turntable removed. If it does then (and if it is belt driven) the belt may be worn and slipping. Anyway you look at it the cover has to come off to see what is happening.
