then why don't you contact dyson , not fixya

Wow, ray gallant, maybe you should take a Customer Service class or 2. How unprofessional. I did contact Dyson and they had a solution. And the battery should not need to be replaced after a year. BTW, your website came up when I typed in Dyson. Sorry I wasted my time and yours.

Well I can appreciate that, but the tone of your reply is curt and unprofessional. Just so you know my search was for dyson.com and your site popped up as a solution to a quick answer. I was unaware that fixya is not affiliated with Dyson. Glad I know now. Just saying, in order to keep customers, you might want to appear to care.

sadly when we read so many questions that do not have enough information posted. and usually never hear back that they have them solved . kinda makes us feel the way you said I come off .

Dyson V6 Animal cordless does not suck very well. No blockage of any kind, and all filters have been cleaned.

Battery not fully charged possibly needs replacing. If a battery is not fully charged it will run only half speed with no suction.

Dyson v6 surges on and off

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

There are a number of things you need to do that may solve the issue you're having with your vacuum. First, make sure that your battery is charging and working. Second, check the MAX button. If the MAX button lights up and flashes when your Dyson cordless vacuum keeps pulsating on and off, hold the power button and depress the MAX button to turn off that function. You may have to try a few times to get the hang of it. And lastly, look for any blockages in attachments because the pulsating is caused by a lack of airflow as the motor is protecting itself by pulsating and then ultimately cutting out.

You can check this video tutorial which will teach you on how you may fix it:

When battery has been fully charged, the charge only lasts 1/2 hour before it needs to be re-charged.

I would assume that the battery is old. With time batteries looses a bit of charge, and their life get worse. You should just buy a new battery and the device will work longer for sure.

My Roomba Model 440 runs for about 2 minutes and stops. I can start it up again after which it repeats stopping after not quite 2 minutes. It is perfectly clean and charged. What is the problem?

Most likely your NiCad battery is at the end of it's life and needs replacement. The packs in Roombas are made up of a group of individual cells and what often happens as they age is that a single cell will fail, causing the entire pack to provide less than usable voltage. The Roomba will attempt to operate and then sensing low voltage, it will shut down.

To prevent reduced battery life in the future with your new pack, always keep your Roomba charged as storing a NiCad pack in a discharged state will cause the build up of salts within the pack, damaging the cells.

Replacement is simple and packs are around $40 bucks online, all you need is a small Phillips screwdriver and about 5 minutes.

I have a euralab robot vacuum and it is only lasting about 5 minutes before it runs out of power. I have had it for about 2 weeks and it worked well at first

I can't guarantee that this will solve the problem, but try deep cycling the battery.
Run the robot until it stops completely and uses all of the battery charge.
Charge the battery until fully charged. Let the battery cool for 6 hours.
Repeat and see if the battery life improves.
Repeat this charge/cool/discharge cycle 3 to 4 times.

When to recharge batter

hi right to be honest both ways are correct, but if your using it every day then its best to put it back on the charger after every use, but the problem with this is that the battery never goes totally flat, so never does a full recharge this reduces the life of the battery by upto 50% so if you are using it regular and need it charged daily then its best to once a month let the battery go totally flat so that it wont even make a sound then do a full recharge.
Doing this will ensure the battery remains at peak performance and make it last longer.

If how ever your only using it say once a week then its best to only charge after the battery has gone flat due to the fact that it would remain on charge longer and cause the battery to over heat reducing the life span of the battery.

But witch ever method you use always let the battery go totally flat once a month then do full recharge this will prolong the life of the battery and ensure it keeps working at full power.

Let me know if you have further questions ok
