Question about Acer Computers & Internet
There are instructions on the packet it came in but nothing else. Use your chosen OS and browser to change what you want it to do.

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

SOURCE: acer aspire 5610 keyboard replacement
1. you need to remove the power cover (if you see the power button, that what i mean).
2. after you remove that cover, you will see 2 screw that hold the keyboard. Remove both screws.
3. Remove keyboard and replace it with new keyboard.

I don't have the diagram but i can give you direction.
1. remove the power cover first (where power button is), it might have 3 screw that hold, if there is 3 screw on the power cover, remove it first.
2. after your removed the power cover, you can see the screw that hold keyboard. remove that screw and you can remove the keyboard.

SOURCE: Keyboard broken on my Acer Aspire 5520
For the Acer Aspire 5520 I'm working on, (Acer Aspire 5520-5156, mode nol: ICW50)
Remove the three black screws under the battery, not the silver screws.
VERY carefuly pry off the power button cover. It will make 'snapping' sounds and if you where gentle nothing will be broken.
The keyboard has no screws holding it and can be slid toward the screen and very gently pryed out, taking care not to tear the ribbon cable, as mentioned before.
When the keyboard is out the cable can be released by gently pulling the cable lock on the header toward the cable, the thin (black in this case, it's usualy a different color than the white connector) plastic part of the connector I just use my fingernails, one index finger on each end slowly pulling till it releases.
Pull the cable out using the pull tab. You can just pull the flat cable out with the pull tab without releasing the calbe lock but you stil need to release the cable lock to properly put in the new cable, then push the cable lock back tight to the connector.

SOURCE: How to connect the Microsoft Wired Keyboard 500 to
ok this is slightly a common problem i come across this situation quite easily, don't worry that the problem is with your usb adapter, its that the keyboard or acer does not have the software needed to run it properly if the keyboard came with a cd get a external cd player and download the software to the computer, but if it did not come with a cd *note: i assumed you have windows xp if you do not please find a way to do this with a different OS* go to control panel, add hardware then follow the instuctions there that should help you install the keyboard so you can use it, allthough if your keyboard is so old it has a ps/2 port i sugest getting a new keyboard with usb plug and use/play they are more user freindly and you will never have this type of problem again.
