Question about Samsung Refrigerators

1 Answer

Rather than self-closing, our refrigerator doors each stop about 4 inches short, requiring a strong push to close. Is this normal or problematic? No kidding ~ 41 views and no answer?!

I have the same problem. At the top of the door hinge, there is a plastic stopper. I unscrew and remove it. Problem solved. I do not know why it is there.

It would seem as if the doors need fixing or that the icebox isnt leaned back enough to self close...but that is just my IMO sadly...

Stop alarm beeping

If you had a model number (on a sticker inside the fridge), there's probably a manual online that tells how to adjust the door.

My refrigerator door does not come up high enough to push in the button when it closes, so the alarm keeps beeping to signal that the door is not shut. I thought if I removed everything from the door,...

You may have one of two problems, you either have too many spacers on the top hinge or not enough spacers on the bottom hinge. With the door on, measure the amout of of distance the door has to come up in order to close properly, say it's 1/4". That being the case, remove door from fridge and install a 1/4" plastic washer over the bottom hinge pin which holds the door in place. It may be necessary to remove a spacer from the top hinge in order for the door to close properly after installing the new bottom spacer, or you may get lucky enough to just take one from the top hinge and put in to the existing hinge spacers on the bottom. Reinstall door and check for proper closure and allignment. Hope this solves the problem.

Hi, the freezer door will not stay closed. need to push the last 1/2 inch, sometimes it pops out again that 1/2 inch. nothing in freezer to stop it closing. Door need adjusting?? Greg

Hi

If the refrigerator is not properly leveled the doors will not close easily, the front side should be a little bit higher than the rear side. If that's how it is, then the issue is with the hinge lever that seems to have gone bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

My refrigerator Door (Whirlpool Gold)does not close like it shoul

You need to bend the door, if the gap is at the top put your foot between the frig door and the bottom and push the door closed slightly. so you can check it and do a small amount at a time. till tou reach the point that the door closes tight. if the gap is at the bottom put a shoe or something about 4 to 5 inches wide. go for it you can fix this..... saw

I have a whirlpool the refrigerator door will not stay close.

It shouldn't be pushing the door itself...you see the magnet that is used in the refrigerators are not repulsive. It doesn't get weaken that easily but what you can do is check if there isn't something bulging out of the fridge and pushing the door...take out all the things from inside and then try closing the door again. If door opens up again then definitely you have to look for a new gasket.

Fridg not cold

your story is very odd but likely nobody is messing with the door switch hwen you moved , or the wires could have shorted out. normally, the door switch, when you open a door would switch on a cabinet light and turn off the blower. in your case, its the reverse, as you open a door, the blower runs and if you close the door, the blower stops. im not sure if you can figure out which pair is the normally close and which one is the normally open on the door switch in order to swap them or you may rplace the door switch.
