Your card is protected against deleting now... You have to get it out, just push it slightly, it will jump out of slot and then move small slider on right side of card to 'unlock' position. Put it back and enjoy.

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

How to remove

Look at your memory card. SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Recently bough a Lexar SDHC 8 GB memory card and now my Samsung Digimax A503 camera won't turn on with the card in. It will power up for about 15seconds and than shuts off. The camera works fine without...

Hi.

The 8GB memory card is too big. The Samsung Digimax A503 only supports SD cards up to 2GB and is probably the reason the camera is turning itself off.

I have a sdhc memory card but when i put it in nothing happens, cant take any pictures anything? Is this the right meory card or do i have to program in or something?

Hi

The Samsung Digimax A503 is a very old camera which was developed long before SDHC cards were invented. As an example it's like you are trying to charge your Ford Model T from your household power socket - the Ford Model T wasn't designed to use electricity, just petrol/gas.

From the information I have the maximum car dyou can use is 1Gb SD.

Hope this helps

Cant take any pictures a message on screen which says card locked

I am guessing that your memory card is an SD type. These cards have a little switch on the card that can write protect or "lock" it. Take the card out of the camera and check this switch. To unlock it, it should be moved towards the edge of the card which has the electrical contacts.

Sd card is locked can't delete pictures

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

If the pictures are protected, see page 43 of this manual.
