Is there any free software to remove virus. If,please mention web address

Hi, there are many free anti-virus programs you can download. Some of the good ones are:

Avast -

If your computer is already infected, installing an anti-virus program might not be effective, so try Microsoft's free online virus scanner, Windows Live OneCare safety scanner, which can be found at:

You'll have to run it from Internet Explorer, and you can choose whether you want it to scan your system to optimize your speed and performance, or just scan it for viruses.

Hope that helps, and good luck!

Thank you for your query

Please download avg free ( and then choose the free version
Install this program and run a full virus scan you will find that bits of the virus may still be in the operating system
Once the scan is complete, you will find it has still picked up viruses, do a complete clear of the viruses and then retry

My window xp has a virus & i had 2 anti virus scanner the AVG & TREATSFIRE..avg is not workin anymore but the treatsfire which i download yesterday is workin, he kill the virus and quarantine

I would firstly recommend sticking to the well known antivirus programs. Many of the free ones off the net are viruses themselves. I would suggest trying to boot into XP's safe mode and seeing if you can uninstall your latest antivirus program.

AVG 7 detecdted Virus Hurri on partition table. How do I remove ?

You will need to fix the master boot record with the Windows XP Recovery Console. To do this, you will need a Windows XP install CD.

Here are the steps to use the recovery console:

To run the Recovery Console from the Windows XP startup disks or the Windows XP CD-ROM, follow these steps:
  1. Insert the Windows XP startup disk into the floppy disk drive, or insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive, and then restart the computer.

Click to select any options that are required to start the computer from the CD-ROM drive if you are prompted.
  2. When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.
  3. If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot computer, select the installation that you must access from the Recovery Console.
  4. When you are prompted, type the Administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER.
  5. At the command prompt, type the appropriate commands to diagnose and repair your Windows XP installation.

In this instance, the correct commands are:

The type exit after finishing then remove the Original OS CD.
The machine will reboot properly.

This will fix your boot sector

And All should be well
