SOURCE: hdmi to dvi

This message may occur if the signal from the video adapter exceeds the scan range of the monitor (monitor not HD enabled).

The video adapter setting on PS3 for updating the screen (the refresh rate) is incompatible with the monitor.

SOURCE: LCD Monitor

Mine had the same problem. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didnt. It really annoyed me. I tested my PC on another monitor, it was fine. I checked my monitor on another PC, it worked fine. We eventually found out it was just the VGA cable. So i would advise just trying another VGA or DVI cable and see if it works.
Hope this helps. Good Luck

SOURCE: My monitor says cable not connected

If it like my monitor, same hookups as yours, then when you want to use the hdmi port you need to disconnect the dvi cable. The monitor cannot read from hdmi & dvi when both are connected, Try this & see if your PS3 works. Good luck

My hanns.g hi221 monitor keeps going yellow and green and looks ill is there something wrong with the monitor

Make sure that the monitor cable is properly seated on the display port at the back of the computer. If the issue persist, it indicates that the cable is already defective or to be exact there are pins or wires that is entirely not connecting to the display adapter.

Restart your computer,
and keep hitting the F8 key until a "start-up" menu
(white text over a black background) is displayed.
Choose "Safe Mode" and let Windows start.
Reset the screen-resolution to 800-by-600, and 60 Hertz refresh-rate.
Restart your computer, normally,
and then "tweak" the screen-resolution and refresh-rates that are "optimal" for your monitor.

How to connect 3 LCD monitors to a computer

Some cards can send 2 outputs that is split by the cable, which is connected to 2 monitors. Generally speaking though, most just split the image up

If you're not sure if your output supports multiple monitors off one output, it's almost certain it doesn't.
