Question about Audio Players & Recorders

It is too bad that you need this cable as they are custom made cables for that unit set. If you do enough research you might find one ready made at DigiKey or some place like that. The problem is that this kind of stuff requires you to keep track of these special cables. Worse comes to worse you could yourself or a Technician wire in a dB9 connector and then be able to make your own cable. This might cost more than the whole set is worth to have a Technician do it but it is one possibility. You could also wire in a molex connector with that many given conductors but that would require getting into the two units to do which takes knowledge and labor. It can be done though.

First try cleaning the heads with some electronics grade alcohol and a static free cleaning swab...although it sounds like the head may need alignment...if those two things do not work out for you, the capstan motor might be the culprit.

i have the same deck with same problem..so this is the typical problem for this deck...got it from thrift shop..it was in perfect condition, working excellent but after few days of enjoying it, all of a sudden the same problem arises.... and the motor is abnormally hot..it is way too fast.
when i switch on the power the middle motor will automatically turn on at very high speed...i play around anything i can do hoping something is just stuck up but to no avail..

The auto stop function is activating due to lack of reel rotation on the TU reel and so you may need a reel drive Idler tire or a new belt.
