First off, I would contact your local Jeep dealer and have them run your VIN # to check for any recalls. The 1999-2004 Grand Cherokees had a recall on the seat heaters. If your vehicle doesn't fall into the VIN # range then either your seat heater switch has gone out, or you have a broken element in the seat heater. I have replaced more seat heaters than switchsm the elements heat up and break. Hope this helps out.
hi
contact your local dealer, all grand cherokee jeeps were recalled for faulty heated seat pads. they will replace them free of charge
hope this helps
hi this could be down to bad conetion on the wireing , check all conections , clean them down , if that doesnt work then its in the electris somewere . you need to trace it ,
Likely, the heating element in the seat has failed. The reason is simply that the drivers seat is in use more than any other seat in the vehicle. You can check continuity of the element with an ohmeter across the seat side of the heater connector. Check for power at the harness side with a volt meter. If there is power but no continuity, heater element has failed. Personally, I'd probably just live with it but you can either attempt to install a new heater element or if you can find a similar seat in a salvage yard, just buy it and put it in! (whole seat probably costs less than the element!!!
Ok it is obvious since the light is coming on you are getting power to the switch. It could be a heated seat relay. Im fairly sure jeeps use a relay after the switch that is where I would start. Check and see if the Heated seat relay, and fuse are good
i am a tech for chrysler jeep and dodge for the models such as your jeeps there is a recall for the heated seats we replace the elements.and also something could have spilled and got into the connections causing a short.check with your local dealer and see if the recall applys to your jeeps.
Sounds like the same problem I had. I brought it to the Jeep dealer and they told me that the heating element in the seat stopped working. They told me that the only way to repair was to take the seat apart and replace the heating element in the seat. Of course they will charge you the standard $80 to tell you this. and then quote you $500 plus to repair. I can't even remember how much, I have decided it was not worth it.
