2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Driver Heated seat not working. No light to the switch. Could this be the heating element of possibly the switch?

Thanks,

Heated seats do not work

First off, I would contact your local Jeep dealer and have them run your VIN # to check for any recalls. The 1999-2004 Grand Cherokees had a recall on the seat heaters. If your vehicle doesn't fall into the VIN # range then either your seat heater switch has gone out, or you have a broken element in the seat heater. I have replaced more seat heaters than switchsm the elements heat up and break. Hope this helps out.

Best of luck

Heated seat

The heating element in the seat could be bad. Check your fuse panel to see if it has a blow fuse.???

Heated seats

Likely, the heating element in the seat has failed. The reason is simply that the drivers seat is in use more than any other seat in the vehicle. You can check continuity of the element with an ohmeter across the seat side of the heater connector. Check for power at the harness side with a volt meter. If there is power but no continuity, heater element has failed. Personally, I'd probably just live with it but you can either attempt to install a new heater element or if you can find a similar seat in a salvage yard, just buy it and put it in! (whole seat probably costs less than the element!!!

Heater seats dont work but light comes on.

Ok it is obvious since the light is coming on you are getting power to the switch. It could be a heated seat relay. Im fairly sure jeeps use a relay after the switch that is where I would start. Check and see if the Heated seat relay, and fuse are good

Heated seats are not working but light is on

Sounds like the same problem I had. I brought it to the Jeep dealer and they told me that the heating element in the seat stopped working. They told me that the only way to repair was to take the seat apart and replace the heating element in the seat. Of course they will charge you the standard $80 to tell you this. and then quote you $500 plus to repair. I can't even remember how much, I have decided it was not worth it.
