Re: instalation error

Hi Hitto
Happy Holidays
NFP, depending on the OS, I presume you have XP, have to download, any new patch for specific problem, or CD instalation, if you have DVD version or CD ROM. Verify the specification on Memory, and Video Card. According.
Good Luck

My product code does not work

Please do confirm your key is for the same version of NFS, do not try to install newer version for your old key, at the same time you should double check your computer's "Date and Time".

Question 1 is what operating system are you using

Direct10X is software (from Microsoft) not hardware. Try opening a command prompt and running DXDIAG to find out what versions are installed
If windows then try running Windows update and update any Direct X drivers

Nfs most wanted

There are a number of different graphics that could have been installed when the system was built. You should find out which card you have and get the lastest drivers (from Dell Support Online) and update it. You can also download DirectX10 from here

Am getting 1721 errors on my computer, can you tell me how i can fix it ?

Here you go. This is long winded but should fix you up.
Error 1721 is a common problem for many different Windows systems, shown when the installation you're trying to perform develops a problem and needs to be fixed. If you have this error, it's recommended that you're able to first fix any problems that could be inside your Windows system, and then cure the specific issues that the Windows Installer program has on your PC. This tutorial is going to show you exactly how to do that...
This error will typically show like this:

  • Error 1721. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personal or package vendor.

The problem with this error is actually caused by a very simple issue - the Windows Installer program that is used to install the various files & software onto your PC is actually damaged or corrupted & preventing your system from installing the program you want. This can be caused by a number of problems, including everything from having corrupt registry settings to the Installer program on your system being damaged. To fix this, you first need to make sure that Windows Installer is okay, and then get rid of any further system errors on your computer.
The first step to resolving this error is to "register" and "unregister" the Windows Installer on your system. This is a program which installs all the programs that you want onto your PC, and is constant on every Windows installation. The problem that often causes error 1721 is the way in which Windows often cannot read the Windows Installer program, because it's not "registered". Registering a program basically tells Windows where to look for it on your system, and it's often the case that this stored reference is either damaged or deleted by accident. To ensure this is not a problem, you need to be able to type the following into your system:

  • Load up "CMD" (click "Start" > Run > type cmd)
  • Type msiexec u/unregister
  • Type msiexec /register
  • Try reinstaling the program you wanted to

If you try this and find it does not work, then it's recommended you then use a program by Microsoft called the "Windows Installer Cleanup Utility". This is a new program which basically cleans up all the settings and options associated with the Windows Installer program; meaning that if you have any problems with the Windows Installer on your PC, they should be fixed. You may also wish to install Windows Installer 4.5, which will basically upgrade the Windows Installer program on your system, which should resolve many cases of the 1721 error.
It's also highly recommended that you use a "registry cleaner" to fix any of the errors that are on your Windows system. A registry cleaner is a type of software tool that basically scans through the registry database of your PC and fixes any of the problems that are inside it. The registry database contains all the settings, files and options for Windows, and is where everything from your most recent emails to your desktop wallpaper are kept. It's basically like a library for your system which is continually being used to help your software run correctly. Unfortunately, the registry is continually being damaged & corrupted, leading it to become highly ineffective and erroneous. To ensure this problem is not causing the 1721 error, you should clean through your system with a registry cleaner tool.

Error Message after Installing Security Updates 925902 and 928843 This afternoon (April 3rd, 2007) my Automatic Updates alerted me about a couple updates I needed to install, so I did. Upon rebooting the computer though I was confronted with the following error message
"RTHDCPL.EXE - Illegal System DLL Relocation"

"The system DLL user32.dll was relocated in memory. The Application will not run properly. The relocation occurred because the DLL C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\HHCTRL.OCX occupied an address range reserved for Windows system DLLs. The vendor supplying the DLL should be contacted for a new DLL."

Cause of Error Message

Turns out this error occurs when the Realtek HD Audio Control Panel by Realtek Semiconductor Corporation is installed. This is my built-in sound card on my computer.

The HHCTRL.OCX file that is included in the Security update 928843 and the User32.dll files that is included in Security Update 925902 have conflicting base addresses. When Windows loaded the HHCTRL.OCX file before it loads the User32.DLL file, the problem occurs.

The error occurs when the following third party programs or applications are installed on a computer with Windows XP Service Pack 2 installed.
Realtek HD Audio Control Panel
ElsterFormular 2006/2007
Microsoft now has released a patch to correct the problems, you can go to the following link to download and install the patch for the patch :-)

I installed need for speed pro street and when i try to play something comes up and says nfs.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.

Okay. Can you verify how much RAM is installed? You will find that info in the system properties (Start/ and right-clicking on My Computer/Properties). The game needs 2 gb of RAM.

Compaq PE2160 with LINUX OS

Check to make sure all of your paths in the mount command are right. I had this issue a week ago and after putzing with it for a few days I noticed I was trying to mount a non-existent share. Fixed my ***** command and it worked right away. Other things to look at: Check your /etc/exports on the server and make sure the shares are in there. Also make sure that they are active by restarting nfs (/etc/init.d/nfsd restart (may be different now, that worked years ago)). Last, double check your mount command on the client. Make sure the share exists and the server is pingable. If this doesn't help, you may want to try searching on some linux specific forums. is good, or if you have ubuntu,
