Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Hi, is it (quite easily) possible to get a notebook with a spanish keyboard in the US ? I'm french and use a lot the differents accent and found that the spanish layout was the best one, IMHO. I saw that it was possible with Apple... but I'm still attached to Windows for some reasons so I would need a standard PC.

    Thanks for your answer.
Well, buying an external keyboard is not bearable for the use I want to.
I know that I could as well configure it to have the spanish layout on the US keyboard but AFA possible, I would like to avoid this solution.

So regarding the original question, would you have any website to recommend ?
I've tried on several ones without beeing able to find anyone selling notebook with spanish layout as Apple does.

    Rgds

I think there are versions of notebooks and netbooks equipped with spanish keyboard layout. You can purchase online since these may come from spanish locations. However, just purchase an "External Keyboard" with spanish layout so that you can still preserve your current notebook. You can just configure windows then so that you can use the external keyboard.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Keyboard spanish

If your main input language is Spanish you should use a Spanish keyboard (Spain, Argentina, etc.) Bu if you need tildas infrequently, you may find it easier to have a list of ASCII codes for the letters that require a tilda. With the ASCII codes you type ALT + code.
Another possibility id the installation of a virtual Spanish keyboard which you will pull down to select the special letters.

If I already have the French keyboard installed, how do I get to the accents? Example: on a mac, you just do "option" - "e".

It is probably not your keyboard.
Look at your fonts.
There are fonts for everything from greek to chinese.
Make sure you are able to use a font with the spanish
stress marks.

How to make french accents marks on a laptop that doesn't have a number pad

You need to tell windows it has a french keyboard:

In the control panel, go to regional and language options.
Go to the keyboards and languages tab, click change keyboards. On the window that pops up, click on the general tab. You probably have just the us keyboard installed. Click add, then choose either english-canada or french-france, then click to add the french keyboard. Click preview to see where the accent keys will be (so you can find them). Now, select the french keyboard and click 'move up' so the french keyboard is above the us english one.

Voila!

Hope this helps. Post a comment if you get stuck.
