Check compression if it is low then you will have to pull head anyway so you may as well have a look/see!

Im installing a new motor in a 2011 ski-doo summit 800r powertek, and have 3 plugs coming out of the stator only could find where two go is the 3rd for nothing or am i missing something


You are missing something. It's been a year or so since I've done this but all three of those plug back into the main stator connector that is on the right side of the machine behind the exhaust if it was installed. I thought they were all the same color though. Reply here If you haven't solved this and I'll take some pics to help you out.

How to replace head gasket on a 05 scion tc 1.5L


If you are asking the question let a mechanic do it. The gasket is cheap but it involves a lot of work and some experiance. Look in a Chilton book for that model and you'll get an idea of whats necessary.

It seems a bad idea , Just doing a good repair is like new :

replace head valves seals
replace head gasket , also check head plain
check cylinders for wear
repalce piston rings

#2 cylinde r head bad. how to repair low compression


First thing you need to do is determine why the compression in that cylinder is low. Four possible causes are 1. blown head gasket 2.bad valve(s) in the head 3. broken compression ring, piston ring land or burned piston. 4. rounded camshaft lobes
One other possibility is a fuel washed cylinder (from leaking injector)
You are going to have to remove that cylinder head and do a thorough internal inspection, possibly involving oil pan and piston removal.
Once the cause has been found you can proceed to make an appropriate repair. Or if the damage is beyond your ability, replace the engine with a used or new one.
There is no quick easy fix to restore compression.

After getiing my puma back?the engine now smokes and there no compression in number 2 piston is my engine dead?


You have this listed under 2001 Ford Focus, but say it's a Puma and also reference the #2 piston. Based on that, I'm going to assume you mean an Arctic Cat Puma snowmobile. If so, Pop the head off (4 nuts) and if it's the gasket, you'll see where it's blown out. Get a new gasket, pop the head back on and tighten it back up. If it's the piston or rings, you'll be able to tell when you pull the head. If the piston has a hole or melted down from a lean condition, you'll see it. If the rings are shot, you may see some scoring on the cylinder wall. You might also be able to tell by the spark plug. Pull it and check for a silvery residue. If the piston burned, it will sometimes leave a silver (aluminum) film on the plug. A whiteish plug means lean which could cause the head gasket or piston problem as well. A dark (brownish, blackish) plug means it was running rich and your piston "should" be ok. Again, best bet would be to pull the head and check everything out.

Blown head gasket. will rebuilt .uch pressure on pistons and rings, causing failure


The conventional wisdom is that this is a possibility with high mileage engines. But the option of just rebuilding the head versus the entire engine would make the choice easy for me -- I'd rebuild the head... I would say the probability that a new head would damage the engine is kinda low.
