SOURCE: screeching snow blower

On one side of your machine you will find a cover that you can remove, the belt for the auger is in there. From what I can see there is no adjustment. Check to see how the belt looks. If it's chewed up it will need to be replaced. If you remove the belt try to turn the impeler to see if it turns freely, if it doesn't then check to see if there is something wedged. if nothing is wedged and the belt is off and it still don't turn by hand it could posibly be a bad bearing.if it does turn by hand. Also check the belt pulleies to see if they are ok, the only pulley that will sshould spin freely is the idler pulley, the one on the engine shaft should spin the moter so make sure you pull the spark plug wire off to check that one, and the auger pulley should spin with the auger.

First check you fluid level,if good have it flushed out with new fluid,if this does now work, time for rebuild, unless you know how to adjust the bands.

SOURCE: no forward gears just reverse

I had the same problem with my grandsons gator and I replaced the shifter switch. I called the peg perego department at 1.801.655.0800 and they sent me a couple of switches.
Hope this helps

SOURCE: My snapper mower only has two forward gears and no

Typically if your clutch is worn, you would experience some slippage in all gears. If your forward gears work, but reverse does not, you should be looking at a potentially more serious problem.

Does the shift rod that moves the snow blower through 1to 3rd gear and reverse have an adjustment? This is a.very old toro snow blower.

Many times the rod is 2 pieces that join together with a slot made onto one end. Normally about knee high under the handles. Adjustments can be made in those slots to effectively lengthen or shorten the overall length of the rod. Essentially it places the shifter on the dash of the handles in coordination with the gears on the gear box.

Does the shifting rod for the 3speed forward and reverse have an adjustment. This is a very old toro snow blower

The shifting rods have slotted ends that match up to each other. Moving the slots will index the lever on the dash to the gear case.

Snowblower will not move forward or in reverse.

Tilt it up on the Auger and take the bottom cover off.
The Friction wheel might be rusted to the Shaft.

I have a 99 or 2000 yamaha 250 bear tracker that pops out of forward gear sometimes when you switch from reverse to forward. How do I fix this?

That forward and reverse lever is adustable. If it's popping out - just try and adjust it to where it lengthens and is more stiff when going into reverse and forward. You can shorten or lengthen that rod that connects the piece you squeeze and pull back/forward to the mechanism on the middle gear housing. When you look - you'll see an adjustment nut. loosen it and adjust it out to where that rod is longer.

I have Troy-Bilt storm 7524 snow blower which normally works fine, however, it has started to have problems shifting back into forward gear after being reversed. I'll put the snow-blower into reverse gear...

Try lubing the linkage where it shifts from forward and to reverse the linkage is most likely freezing up or has snow or ice build up causing it not to shift, My thought is your shoving it hard enough that it finally engages when you get the snow or ice to break off.
