I have the Voyager Sky Tour. There is no opening in the tube. How do I see anything?

Refractor and reflector openings are in the FRONT of the tube-- usually a plastic cap that can be removed and replaced to keep dust out of the inside of the scope and or off the front lens.

Two years ago my son got the astro-nova 102 mm for Xmas. Since then we have not been able to see anything on it, Everything looks dark. Tried to return it to toys r us but since we did not have the receipt...

First NEVER buy another telescope from Toys R Us ------- we get the most complaints on this telescope brand.

Two suggestions-

1. Find a nearby Astronomy club and have the members help you with the scope.

2. This is what is called a REFLECTOR style telescope. Many beginners setup this telescope BACKWARDS. The large mirror is on the bottom of the scope-- and the eyepiece and focuser is on the UP end of the scope near the front on the side of the tube. Like this picture-

3. Take the scope outside during the day time -- put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the focuser. DO NOT USE the 2x barlow if you have one. Practice focusing on a distant object.

Cant see anything

Can you see anything during the day time? Practice focusing during the day time on a distant object using the eyepiece with the largest number written on it.

The moon should be your first target at night.

Mine came with no front lens. I can not take it back as there are no returns after 30 days and I bought it more than 30 days ago for my son for xmas.

We receive more complaints on that brand of telescope than any other-- it is a toy and not worth trying to repair which would cost MORE than you paid for the entire thing.

Received 102mm astro-nova telescope for xmas. How do you use it? Came with no instructions. Not sure which end to point at the object to be viewed. Removing what looks like a lens cap does nothing.

The eyepiece is on the FRONT end of the telescope which is pointed UP.

The mirror is in the bottom.

Remove the lens cap and put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the focuser. Go outside during the day time and practice focusing on a distant object. The image will be upside down but this is not a problem. NO up or down in outer space!

4.5 inch reflector telescope --can't see anything

Try pointing it at the moon first-- with the 20mm and practice focusing it. The moon is up just after dark right now.
