SOURCE: Ademco Alarm System - Zone works opposite? Triggers on (door closed)/ Stay Off (door opened)?

i dont think it polarity not unless alarms in the usa are different from nz aus uk sounds like you have a faulty something. try open and closing the front door and look at the keypad to see if the zone activates as it should. there can only realy be 3 things. device, cable or panel fault. you can easly test the system by swaping the zones in the panel ie zone 1 to 2 and 2 to 1 providing that they have similar zone charectorists ie "entry exit" if the fault moves to the other zone you know its a device fault.(inspecting the cable for damage is probably the easy thing to do) if its a reed switch you could look at the position of the magnet it may be making borderline contact and a slight movement of the door could be tripping the zone. if the fault doesnt move its a panel fault. before you jump in though make sure that if you dont comprimise your protection or insurance by trying DIY security. good luck (if you have no joy post more details)

SOURCE: viper alarm keypad will beep for 30 seconds every time I arm or disarm

Change the battery, 2-way remotes require 2 slim batteries on top of one another. Regular remotes only require 1.

Why does a 5816 door sensor in my Lynx 5200 system send a fault message even when system is disarmed?

Jon, I am not 100% sure what you are asking about. However, is the keypad shows 'Ready to Arm' when the door is closed and then shows the front door in fault when you open it, then that is how it is supposed to work. When the system sees a door open or movement, then it shows on the zone in fault on the leypad. If you were to try and set the alarm with the door open, the system can tell you which zone needs to be corrected before you can set it. Usually it is as simple as closing a door or window. When the door is closed and it says that it is ready to arm, you are good to set and leave. Opening the door with the alarm off or on will report on the keypad.

My lynx plus panel beeps and shows "30 check". What is that and how can i clear it? I cannot arm the system while that is up. Thanks for help.

It means that zone 30 is in a trouble state, possibly due to the cover being loose/off or a dead battery.

Press the asterisk (*) button two times and it will hopefully tell you what zone 30 is. Find that point and check the sensor. If the cover looks fine, take it off and put it on again. Try to reset the keypad by disarming it twice (enter your code then press off, do that twice).

It if still shows "check 30", replace the battery. Take out the old one and leave the new one out for at least one minute. When the cover is back on, try to reset the keypad by disarming it twice.

If that doesn't work, you should be able to bypass that zone by entering your code, then press bypass (the 6 button), then 30. So code+6+30.

It will stay bypassed until you disarm the system again.

You have most likely "bought a duffer" I have 30 years experience with alarms.

!. Remove the internal battery, power down the panel.
2. leave "dead" for 10 minutes.
3. reinstate the power, Mains first then refit battery (Make sure terminals are correct for each wire)
4. Retest.

If the above does not work give Lynteck a call on

I bought a house with a DIGITAL FRONTIER. DFA3400 Hybrid Alarm System but no manual, I do not know how to set the alarm and to put in a code to deactivate the alarm. I need an owners manual.

Key in the 4 digit passwrrd and press "A" button, this will delay for a few minutes for you to leave the house, lock the door before activation.

If you are at home and want to arm the alarm immediately, key in your 4 digit password and press H button and the alarm will arm immediately (except certain zone such as IR, since you do not want to trigger this while moving around inside the house).

To disarm just input the 4 digit password. Please see or download the manual attached for programming new password and other functions.

I have a dsc power 832, and have replaced the battery, but i can not get it returned to the ready state as it shows an alarm memory stating ''panel lid''. How do i reset this alarm message?

An "alarm Memory" indicates that a zone was activated the last time the system was armed. To view what zone caused the problem press the * key (star) + the 3 key. To reset the memory simply arm the system and disarm. Hope this helps.
