The email, phone number, and name you already know. The login id (and password) are your choice.

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

My 2nd kindle died and I received a kindle paperwhite and would like to add and transfer my books. I am not a computer person so need help to add

Just register your new Kindle under the same login as your old one -- same user name and same password. Your files will come across and you can choose which to download.

There's no apparent limit to how many Kindle devices you can have on one account.

I now have the first Kindle that came out but today purchased the White paper Kindle. How do I get info from the first kindle to the current one?

1. Go to your first Kindle's settings, connect to WiFi. Go to Device Name. CAREFULLY write down the Device Name, including spaces, punctuation and capitalization. For instance:
Bob's 1st Kindle
2. Do the same for your Send-to-Kindle Email name such as:
3. Deregister Device (You might have to deactivate parental controls to do this).
4. Open your new Paperwhite settings, go to Register Device, name it the same as your original kindle, give it the same Send-to-Kindle email, and all of your content should be available almost right away.
In your library, very little may show up on DOWNLOADED. You might have to go to ALL to see your books and download the ones you want.

If Amazon automatically named your new Paperwhite in sequence, for instance:
Bob's 2nd Kindle
you will have to deregister that one before renaming it to the original name.
Enjoy! I'm on my third Kindle.

My new fire tablet 8GB Black keeps telling me I have a registration error when I try to put my e-mail and password into it...what to do next?

If you think you're entering the correct Amazon email address and password you should contact Kindle Support. Tap the word Help at the top of this screen and then follow the path for Contact Us. Choose "Call Me" under "Phone" and they will call you promptly ready to assist you. You can also use Live Chat but I find Phone to be the best option. Do not use email as the answers are often incorrect or you end up calling anyway after wasting precious time.

- you need to have a wireless connection to Register - either WiFi or 3G/4G
- you need to have a Kindle that was not reported as stolen or lost or blacklisted - will NOT be allowed to Register
- you need to have an Amazon Account ID email and password

How do we register two Kindle Fire HD 6 Tablets to the same email address, but different names?

Unfortunately you cannot do this. You can register more than one device on a single Amazon account but you cannot register multiple email addresses and associate them with different devices within a single account.

How do I deregister my kindle fire tablet

In your Amazon account, ( If you don't have one, create one) simply login and click on the "Manage your Kindle" tab on the right of the screen, and then select the "my devices" option, where you can register or deregister your Kindle.
If your Kindle is second-hand, you'll need the serial number of your Kindle to register it in your name.

I cannot register my kindle and cannot link up to wifi. I have tried connecting it to my computer, but nothing is working. With this, I cannot load any books onto it. Can someone please help me? Thank...

Usually the Kindle comes pre-registered to the name used for purchasing it.

However, to register to a different name, open on a PC. Log in using your existing Amazon account or create a new one, following the directions on the web page.

If your Kindle was not registered yet, you can add your device by clicking on "Register a new Kindle" and enter your serial number.

If the device is registered already, it should show up in the list displayed.

How do I delist a kindle that I purchased as a gift for my daugter? Al Willinger

When you register your Kindle, you'll be able to purchase and download content easily. You can register or deregister your Kindle on your computer through the Manage Your Kindle page, or right from your device.
Note: If you have a Wi-Fi only device, you will need to set up your Wi-Fi connection in order to register from your device.

To register or deregister your Kindle from your device:
  1. Move the 5-way controller down until "Settings" is underlined and press to select.
  2. Press the 5-way controller to select "register" or "deregister" from the Settings screen. If you don't have an account, you will be prompted to create one.
  3. When you register your Kindle, enter your user name and password (the e-mail address and password associated with your Amazon account) using the keyboard.
  4. Move the 5-way controller to select "OK."
Tip: If your Amazon user name or password contains characters or numbers not present on the Kindle keyboard, press the Symbol key to see a menu of additional characters.
Registering if You Don't Have an Account If you don't already have an account, you can create one at Here's how:
  1. On the sign-in screen, enter the e-mail address you want to use for your account. This e-mail address will be the one we use to send you updates about your orders.
  2. Don't enter a password. Check the button next to "No, I am a new customer" and then click the Sign in using our secure server button to continue.
  3. Enter your name and verify your e-mail address on the Registration screen.
  4. Enter a password for your new account and click the Continue button. We'll ask you to enter the same password twice to make sure it is correct. (You might also want to write your login informaiton so you'll have it later.)
  5. Visit the Manage Your Kindle page. Enter the serial number for your Kindle and click the Register a new Kindle button. You'll find Kindle's serial number on the outside of the box or on the Settings menu on your Kindle.
If you're unable to locate Kindle's serial number, don't worry. You've successfully created an account and can now register your Kindle wirelessly following the Registering Your Kindle instructions above.
