Question about Sony Televison & Video

1 Answer

I have a Sony DVP-NC85H CD/DVD player and it will no longer load a disk. I have tried a lenz cleaner and other cd's and dvd's and still no luck. What can I do to fix this without paying an arm and a leg for a repair or a replacemnet?

SONY DVP FX-930 unit 8 months old, tried DVD's, CD's insert disc and no matter what disc I install the unit displays "NO DISC".

Your pick up or lenz needs cleaning then your dvd player will be able to read your DVD. Please buy a good DVD cleaner.

Loading is blinking

Try using a cleaning disk for the laser eye. This is a special dvd with a brush grafted on it to clean off thedoirt on the laser. Hired DVD;s are often covered in greasy finger marks and other debris which gets transferred to the iris as the disk spins. this eventually clogs the laser and it can no longer do a load and often reports no disk.

My sony portable dvd player won't work. It just keeps saying that its loading. Then it say's check disk. what should I do.

Does this happen with all discs?
Are the discs clean and not scratched?

Try a DVD lens cleaning disc (not a CD lens cleaner).

You may have to try the cleaning disc more than once.

Unit won't power on

Go ahead and turn off the computer and disconect all the peripheral devices along with the disk in the cd dvd drive. Do a power drain and then restart the computer after 1 to 2 minutes. Hope it will work.

DVD player will not play HD DVD's (It's supposed to be able to play HD DVd's)

If it plays everything except HD DVDs, then the player needs to have it's software updated. Not sure how this is done. You may have to contact the manufacturer, or return it to the store you bought it from. If it has problems playing all discs, then the laser may be dirty or out of alignment. Buy a cd/dvd cleaner and try it. These are simply discs that have a little area on them that you put a drop of cleaning solution and then insert into the player. If you are mechanically inclined, you can try opening up the player and using some rubbing alcohol on a Qtip to clean the laser lens (if it is accessible).
