My cannon g12 camera takes over exposed photographs. he shutter is working well. so, help me.

Check your Exposure Compensation Dial. In shooting modes where exposure compensation is allowed, this dial can be set to decrease or increase the brightness of the image in 1/3-stop increments across a range of -2 to 2. You use this control to override the camera's automatic exposure settings to get a slightly darker or lighter image. It should be set to 0.

I am shooting on Manual (M) on the dial. My f-stop is stuck. Why would that be? Did I cripple it by tweaking the wrong setting? Help!

No I doubt your crippled it but you might have neglected to turn the "Quick Control Dial" on here is a diagram of the little mark to set the switch to.

The rear control dial on my eos1n does not work

The switch to the right of the Quick control dial is the on off switch for that dial, to the lower left is the camera on/off switch. If the camera was left in the "A" position the LCD panel on the top will drain the battery always set the camera to the "L" position when not in use

Canon 40D camera On P mode it is - 2 stops I can't find the setting to take it back to 0 and my pictures are underexposed.

When you turn on the camera, there's an option to turn the switch beyond "On", indicated by an angled line. Move your power selector switch there. Then half-trigger a scene and turn the Quick Control dial behind the camera to adjust the Exposure Compensation. Note: Being in "On" mode doesn't enable exposure compensation, leaving the settings stuck at previous.

How do I change the aperature in the manual mode. As I change the shutter speed using the top dial, that works fine however, I'm having trouble using the dial on the back to change the aperature. What...

Make sure that the power switch is in the correct position.
It actually has three positions:
  • Off
  • On (with quick control dial disabled!)
  • Third position (quick control dial enabled!)
So, when the power switch is in the middle position (ON), the rear control dial is disabled in order to save you from inadvertently changing the setting, when you are wearing the camera on a neck strap.
So be sure to put it in the third position.

How do I change the f stops on a Canon powershot sx100

Hi,

Set the mode dial on the top to Av.
Use the control dial on the back to change the aperture value.
This is shown at the bottom center of the LCD.
Shoot.

Set the mode dial to auto or whatever when you have finished.

Hope this helps.

Manual focus points 40D

Try checking C.Fn III, 3: AF point selection method. Yours might still be on option 2.

0: Normal - Works by pressing the AF Point button and then the Multi-controller.

1: Multi-controller direct - Press the multi-controller to directly select an AF point (without first having to press the AF Point button). Pressing the AF button reinstates all AF points for auto AF point selection.

2: Quick Control Dial direct - turn the Quick Control Dial to select AF points. In this mode, AF points will not be displayed on the LCD panel.
