Question about HP iPAQ H2215 Pocket PC

SD card slot stopped working

Hi, hope someone can help. My HP Ipaq 2215 has an SD and CF slot. When it died from lack of charging, the SD slot stopped working. Now I can't use my 256MB SD card and have to rely on my 8MB CF card for storage. Short of sending it in for repair, are there any fixes you could recommend? I like in the Philippines and it seems there are no repair shops here, only in the States.

Dipolog? Where in Dipolog? Aren't there any repair shops in Metro Manila instead? I've already asked the HP shops in MM and they don't have a clue.

I am sorry?

You want me to give you my solution for nothing and want to charge me $9.95 for it.

HP-iPaq 2215 battery replacement

Hi, Jim--
When you take the battery out of an IPAQ you're performing a hard reset. I've got 4 different IPAQs and it does the same thing on all of them.
My solution was to back the IPAQ up using the internal backup program (back up to IPAQ storage) and then replace the battery, then restore the last backup.
Saved me a heck of a lot of time. It's been hard to remember to back up everytime I add a program or change data majorly, but it's probably the best thing to do.

I recently purchased 2nd hand a HP ipaq hx2000 pocket PC. It all appears to function ok apart from it will not recognise any compact flash card when I insert it into the slot. I have tried several CF...

Have you tried using an SD card? The hx2000 is supposed to support SD cards and CompactFlash Type II memory cards. If it doesn't respond, it's possible that your second-hand device simply has a faulty card slot.

SD Card not reading

I had this problem once and found after tedious looking that one of the pins was bent inside my HP 3715 PDA. I used a very small needle nose and a safety pin and pushed it back in location. Has been working ever since.
