2003 dell inspiron 600m not updating Windows XP to SP2. Get error "Control ID not Found". No anti-virus software on computer so the Microsoft solution is not valid in this case.

Just because you think u have no antivirus does not mean that certain files from a deleted one dont exist in your hard drive. Have you tried the work around Microsoft suggested on this error?
  1. Download the Windows XP SP2 installation file and save the file to a local folder.
  2. To temporarily stop the eTrust Realtime Monitor, right-click the Realtime Monitor icon in the notification area, and then click Disable Realtime.
  3. To install the service pack, double-click the Windows XP SP2 installation file.
  4. After the service pack installation is completed, turn on the eTrust Realtime Monitor:
    • Right-click the Realtime Monitor icon in the notification area, and then click Monitor Outgoing and Incoming Files.

I recommend to instal McAfee VirusScan for Mac. McAfee VirusScan for Mac includes detections for exploits, viruses, trojans, worms, and spyware that threatens Macs, PCs, and Unix systems. On access scanning provides realtime protection while drag and drop scanning facilitates a quick check of newly downloaded files. McAfee VirusScan for Mac retails for approximately $37 per license with discounts for bulk purchases

Not able to down load video from my Panasonic videto Mac Pro 3.1

Basically mac does not like USB, it is bad and uses burst of information not suitable to video so FCP kinda ignores the option. It works ok for the transfer of non-realtime info. Can you not use DV to FW. Loads of people are having this issue as MAC have dropped it with the new MacBook to in my opinion force people to buy MBP.
