SOURCE: Turntable does not rotate when switched 'on'.

K, I'm not familiar with that particular stereo unit but there were a lot of stereos from years gone past that used a turntable made by BSR. When you activate the switch to start the turntable listen closely to the record platter for a hum or possibly the sound of a motor turning (they're quite quiet). Is the switch lever you pull rectangular made of black plastic, you pull it towards you one click to start the record and pull it one step further (spring loaded) to make the tone arm lift from the record automatically? Just want to make sure I'm talking about the right turntable before we continue.

SOURCE: JVC L-E5 Turntable arm will not move to the record.

This turntable is linear tracking, meaning that the tonearm slides from side to side. Inside there is a belt coming off a motor and over to a pulley that will move the tonearm from left to right n right to left. If you feel qualified it can be replaced with moderate from the bottom after removing the bottom cover with the power OFF. the belt can be found here.

SOURCE: Digitech turntable - skipping stylus and arm

You might need to apply more pressure to the stylus. There should be a weight on the end of the arm, it should have a control to move it up and down. The only other thing is the stylus damaged from transit?

SOURCE: Turntable does not rotate when switched 'on'.

Throw it from a second story window then smash it with a sledgehammer. That's what I plan to do with mine.

Rockola 424 jukebox

Check the main gears at the bottom of the gripper arm as these get gummed up and need to be free.It sounds like it has not finished it's cycle as the last bit is dropping the arm. WATCH YOUR FINGERS as the motor won't stop until the switch is hit on the cam at the back of the tone arm.

My rockola 424 turns but wont play

Are all the gears at the base of the gripper arm free to travel their full distance?

Stop spinning

If it used to start spinning when the arm was move towards the record, then it's likely that the arm is connected to a switch which is now faulty and the contacts have closed and wont open. You might be able to get to it from underneath the deck. It might have just gone out of shape and could be bent back.

Detrola record player wont spin, even after moving arm to far right.

I suggest you lift up the turntable matt and see if you can see a belt, which has either broke or come off. You might need a new belt!

How do you shift to play records. When I turn to phono on dial it turns the unit off. I have a radio cd player with CR24 turntable

Move the tone arm off the rest on to the record and it will start to spin. There is a switch that turns the player off when the tone arm is on the rest.

Rockola 464 jukebox. arm that holds needle will not move over to record

The turntable will need to be removed, the pladder should be taken off with the c clip to inspect the gears, I would not be surprised if the grease has gone hard and is interfering with the cycle. Flip the turntable over to check for any restrictions. If it is a grease issue the old must be removed before applying new. Please keep me posted on your progress and if I can be of further service don't hesitate to ask.

How do you get the turntable to start turning? We just got a Philco turntable and can't find a switch to get the turntable to turn. We got it used so don't have the instruction manual.

A lot of turntables start moving when the arm is moved to the record start. The turntable should move when you move the arm to the edge of the platter, even with no record. If it doesn't, listen to see if the motor spins. Then lift up the platter matt to see if the belt has slipped off.

Turntable will not turn (spin)

It would appear this is a belt drive turntable - here's a link to a site where you can order a replacement, although you may be able to find a cheaper one.
