Check the ground/neutral connection. I have a 3 wire cord and I found in my panel that the neutral and grounding bar were not bonded so the fact that my bare copper wire was connected to the ground bar which was not bonded to the neutral left my dryer without a grounded connection to provide a clean 120v from each hot leg to ground. I bonded the neutral to the ground and all my problems went away and my dryer works great again.

SOURCE: Dryer shuts off after releasing "push to start"

this problem sounds like it can only be 1 of 2 problems. the start button or the motor is not going into run winding. i found over the years that the blue wire i believe is burnt at the motor. this can be repaired quite easily .cut the wire and strip it putting a new connector on. if you need to you can buy an assortment at a hardware store. if every thing is good check the start button for burnt wire if ok then you most likely have a bad motor. i'm pretty sure though that a wire is burnt off at the motor

SOURCE: start button humms when pushed won't start dryer

Mike, I know this is NOT what you want to hear, but the drive motor is failing. No, let me be specific... the motor BEARINGS have failed. There are 2 bearings on your motor, one on either side. They are permanently lubricated and not serviceable. Unfortunately, they can not be replaced without replacing the whole motor. Sorry. Care to know how it works? There's one motor that performs 2 functions (hence the 2 shafts, hence the 2 bearings). One function is to turn the drum, the other is to power the blower assembly for air circulation. From my experience w/ Kenmore (which is almost always built by Whirlpool, btw) I'd almost bet that you have noticed that it takes a long time to dry the clothes, right? Like you put it on timed dry and when the dryer buzzes, you come in to find the clothes still damp and hot? Then you re-set the dryer for another 30 minutes or so? Almost always this is the case. The blower is designed to expel warm, moist air continually. When the dryer vent (to the outside) gets blocked, this air has no place to go. The heat inside the cabinet increases because of the blockage and heat stresses affect the interior components. One of the components especially vulnerable to this heat is the motor bearings. When they over heat, the "permanent" seal expands and blows out. This allows the bearings' lubrication to leak out. When the dryer cools down in between uses, the bearings contract thereby pulling in lint and dust. This cycle continues for a long time. As the bearings continue to deteriorate, the motor must work harder to overcome the "grip" the bearings have on the shaft. This continues until the motor can no longer overcome the resistance (much like the **** during the French Occupation) and all you hear now is the low pitch sound of a motor in its' death throws. My advice? Well? The motor itself costs around $140.00. You'll also need to replace the blower which will be another ~$30.00. So for about $170.00 in parts, you could do this. But I gotta tell you, it's one of the most difficult jobs on a dryer that there is to do. I've done around 500 of them and even knowing what to do it takes me about an hour and 15 minutes (the ENTIRE dryer must be disassembled, repaired and rebuilt). If you call a repair tech to come do the job, the repair cost would be near $300 if not more. So this is your call. If you decide to do the repair, write back with the entire model number (open the dryer door, it's on a sticker on the panel [not the door] and it'll start like 110.*********) and I'll get you part numbers and walk you through the entire procedure. Deal? Cool. Hope this helps. SG

SOURCE: Nothing happens when I push the start button on my Gas Dryer

Three things you can check the door switch is it clicking? The thermal fuse you want to make sure there is continuity or worse case would be your motor.

SOURCE: I have a LG DLE0332W Electric Dryer. I push the

I have an LG TROMM DLG and I was having the same problem. A few days ago, I had the " check filter" light come on, checked it, took exhaust hose off, and blew it out (with my leaf blower- maybe not the best tool for the job) dryer worked couple of days and then I had problem you mentioned.
My best friend engineer neighbor came over to look at it. We took top off, turned it on, wouldn't tumble, we gave the drum a push with our hands, it started, we repeated that a coupel of times and now it's working, Seems like belt is fine, motor is ok- maybe something got caught in rollers, Hopefully fixed for good now.

I need to get the front panel off my LG DLEX5170W 7.3 cu. ft. Ultra Large Capacity Steam Dryer to install heating element. Please help..

Question edited for clarity and typo.

From my experience with this type of dryer, you start at the rear. You undo the fixings on the rear console, then you remove the lid and finally the front and sides.

My Felt dryer drum seal came off. How do I replace it?

Strange, I just answered a similar question and her name was Angie, but different surname. You need to do a full strip down. The answer will be the same, but you can change the make and model in the search query to yours. All questions here need full make and model please.

Hi I'v LG DLEX5170W I got it from us and I live in Egypt the prb. is we have 220 v and I can't conect it so which wier is for the heater is it the black or the red

You would need to purchase a step-down transformer which will take the 220 volts input and convert it to 110 volts AC in order to power the machine without changing anything on it.

LG Dryer Power button is pushed in

More than likely, the button pad support inside the panel is broken and the whole control panel will need to be replaced. You will need the complete model number to get the correct part number.
