What can i do to stop the flashing of the depth finder at times it will not show the current depth

Hey Joe,
Wow.. where to start.. there are so many things that will cause the issue you are describing. What type of electronics do you have? Does this happen at all speeds? Where is the transducer mounted? I need more info about when it stops reading.
1.Wrong setting on the unit
2 Bad transducer
3 Bad transducer mounting (either inside the hull or outside the hull.)
4. (In hull) Turbulence going under the boat (mine quits reading at about 55 mph @ half trim...the boat is lifting so much it causes air pockets so the transducer loses contact with the water)
5. (Outside hull) Turbulence around the bottom of the boat where the transducer meets the water.
Good luck,, when you get the info.. reply to me..

Will a dent on the bottom of a Venus to effect the boat's ability to track a straight line?

Oilcanning is a fairly common problem usually caused by improper storage or transport of your kayak, especially if it's hot out. Gently heating your hull (either by laying your kayak upside down in the sun on a warm/hot day or by using a heat gun CAREFULLY) MIGHT pop the dent out. If you were dealing with a single-hulled kayak, a little gentle pressure on the area with the dent while it's warm/hot would definitely do the trick. Not sure how I would approach a double hulled kayak, but it would probably be a combination of heat and pressurizing the inside of the hull or heat and water on the inside of the hull...would have to experiment.

What problems or benefits will I get with an aluminium boat hull

Aluminum boats are easier to maintain, will last longer than fiberglass, and are easier to repair. You can also bump into things without causing damage like you would to a fiberglass hull.

The only real advantages to fiberglass are that it looks better due to the gelcoat finish, providing that it is maintained, they also feel more solid in the water due to the extra weight, and they tend to ride better and are quieter than an aluminum hull.

One other consideration is whether you will operate it in fresh water or salt water. Salt water can lead to corrosion problems on an aluminum hull if you leave it in the water. Fiberglass doesn't have that problem, but you can have a problem with blistering if you leave a fiberglass boat in the water for long periods, especially if you don't use a bottom coat of some sort.

If you do opt for an aluminum boat in salt water, just make sure that you spray it down with fresh water and wipe it down with a soft towel whenever you take it out of the water. This is actually a good practice for any boat, aluminum or fiberglass.

Why does the hull fill with water on a 1989 waverunner 500?

more than likely the seal around the intake shoe and or ride plate has been damaged or is missing. the factory uses a neoprene type double sided tape in between those pieces and the hull, next would be to look around the rear of the exhaust system while running on the hose to look for water leaks. Also is there a flush kit installed and is the cap on it?

Cavataion with my 800 yamaha waverunner will not get up on plane

check hull type as a freshwater hull and a sea hull are different as sea water has a higher level of buoncy .Although i doubt if you will encounter a freshwater hull but it is a thing to think about and check.Main cause though could be lack of engine power for whater reason .

I have a GE whdsr209 washer. Stuck on filling with water.

Ok, take a deep breath and blow....
No, really...
Ok, to understand how to fix the problem you have to understand a little bit about the control part of the machine.
Ok so here we go...
First thing is the first stage which is filling the machine with water.
So how does the machine know how much water to fill, well the answer is pressure.
If you remove the front panel of the machine and look on the side of the tub, you will see a tube attached to a plastic hull.
Air gets trapped inside the hull and as the water fills the tub the pressure inside the hull increases. The tube attached to the hull routes the pressure building inside the hull to the fill pressure switch. The more water filling the tub the more pressure generated and supplied to the switch.
If the line becomes clogged with buildup or developes a leak, the whole process will not work, thus the switch will not become engaged stopping the flow of water into the machine.
How do you check for opperation of the line and switch,
well remove hose from hull and as the tub is filling with water, blow into the tube creating pressure and thus activating the pressure switch..
You will hear the switch click and the machine should stop the fill process and start washing.
Rarely but possible, the pressure switch is faulty.
Mostly, it is a clogged line, disconnected line, or line that has been damanged by rodents or pets..
Hope this helps
Good luck...

My 1997 polaris jet ski keeps taking in water? what could this be??

Unplugged water tube, cracked water tube, bad drive shaft hull seal, hole/crack in the hull, cracked water box, broken exhaust jacket water seal, water tubes plugged in incorrectly, no cap on flush kit, broken fitting on motor, etc. Dry out the boat take off the seat and place it in the water and look to see where the water is coming into the hull.

Crack in clear blue hawaii molokini hull

Use a fiberglass repair kit, available at most hardware stores. Use an overlay prior to patching so you don't develop a soft spot in the hull.

the transducer has to be in the water or attached to the inside of the hull if fiberglass with no air between the hull and the transducer. It doesn't transmit thru air.
