SOURCE: Machine slows down, stops, starts again. Foot control problem?

Yes it does sound like a faulty foot control. The power cord is probably fine, you just need the controller. Ebay is a good source for parts.

SOURCE: when depressing the foot controller

Could be a lot of reasons. Normally for simple straight stitches it should fly. I'd take it in ad get it checked out.

My Singer Sewing Machine runs too fast. Is there a way to slow it down?

what type of machine do you have. I have two that I operate with buttons and it has a little slide button to speed or slow down I don't know why it should run to fast with a foot pedal because you control the speed with your foot you may want to check to see if there is any trash that has gotten in the foot and somehow not allowing the foot to come back up

If machine speed is not controllable with your foot controller, you probably need a new controller. These items should be covered by a 2 year warranty from Janome.

I find my janome overlock machine is very slow ,i would like to know how to increase its speed

There is no speed seperate control on overlockers other than the foot control but most sew at 1500 stitches per minute, very fast compared to sewing machines.

What is your stitch length set to as this could be the problem. For normal four thread stretch seam you would want the length set to beween 2 and 3 so double check this - the length knob is usually a knob on the right side near the flywheel.

Hopefully, the above solves the problem for you but if not, please message again.

Tech says it needs a controller for an elna 7000. is that part still available? he means speed control

I am sure it is. He/she should have elaborated on the replacement cost.

Are you referring to a foot pedal or does this model have the start/stop button and slow/fast selection?

A foot pedal can be ordered from an online site that sells parts and accessories for sewing machines.

The other function I mentioned has to be fixed by a sewing machine repair person.

Motor is sluggish, Necchi Model#4795

Set machine to wind the bobbin to check for how fast the machine will run. I believe it will run fast or slow according to how hard you depress the foot control. If it runs fast and slow you have a problem in the machine. Most likely the machine, if turned by hand, is hard to turn and it needs to be professionally serviced. before it is ruined.

Izek Speed Control

Have you tried removing the batteries and cartridge and re-intalling? Also I learned the pressure foot must be down for my izek to accept setting changes. Hope this helps.
