page 23 change network settings

then page 14 on wi fi settings
if new service provider gave you the encyrption key and has dhcp on then this should start Roku working on Wi FI.

New service provider would have installed a wi fi router this is most likely on 192.168.0.1 or 10.0.0.1 go to cmd prompt type in
ipconfig
then press enter key
Not the default ip address
the router should have a wi fi security option that tells you if the wi fi is encrypted and what ssid is being broadcasted.
DCHP should be enabled Roku will use this to assign itself an ip address once connected to Wi FI.

you need to know routers admin user name and password as well

Check the IP addresses of the units. They may have the same IP number. If they do assign each of the items in your network a static IP and it should work.

A Roku account is free. However, we ask for your payment information to provide you the convenience of making purchases from the Roku Channel Store on your TV. You will only be charged if you choose to make a purchase.
You will be asked to place a payment method on file during the account creation process. Your Roku account will let you access the Roku Channel Store, which has numerous channels to select from, many at no additional charge.
You can use the following as payment methods:

  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • American Express
  • Discover Card
  • Paypal
It is important to know, only the above credit card types will work. Debit cards such as Visa Electron are not supported. If you do not have a supported credit card, it is recommended to use PayPal.
You can place a payment method on file by logging in to your Roku account and clicking "Add a payment method for Channel Store purchases" under "Payment Method".

If you're referring to xfinity router and you're getting error code 014, try to do the following:

On your Roku remote, press the following:

Home button 5x
FF once
PLay/Pause once
Rew once
PLay/Pause once
FF once

It should take your to the platform screen. Check if there's an IP address, a valid Ip address which is not all zeros. Then look for Disable NetWork Ping and press ok on it. Then go back to the Home screen then reconnect to your network.

Had to get a new router now my roku says my network is not shown

Sir,

The quick fix: make sure your router's DNS settings are properly set to an External IP address. If DNS1 or DNS2 show up as internal IPs such as: 192.168.1.x, then your Roku won't connect to the Internet.

Here is the detailed fix:

  • Login to your router. (typically this is done through an internal ip address like 192.168.1.100). You enter this IP address directly into your web browser same as you would a website. **NOTE some people actually enter web addresses into Google, and then navigate that way. This won't work. Enter the IP address directly into the browser's Location or Navigation bar at the top. This will take you to your router's login screen. *NOTE sometimes the router's default password is "password". But it's possible that your password was changed during installation. If you don't have your router's password, contact your Internet provider.

  • Once logged into your router, navigate to its DNS settings. My guess is that if your Roku isn't working, it's because rather than an external IP address being used for your DNS, the router is set to use an internal IP address. (Your computer is able to overcome this because it has built-in DNS settings, but the Roku looks to the router for this information.)

  • Replace the internal DNS address with a public DNS address. What worked for us was using Google's public DNS. So set DNS1 to 8.8.8.8 and DNS2 to 8.8.4.4 .

  • Save your settings.

  • Run the Roku setup again. If you still aren't able to connect to the Internet, then bounce (unplug) the router. Leave it unplugged for 15 seconds. Then power it back up. Try again with the Roku. If that doesn't work, bounce the Roku. Leave it unplugged for 15 seconds, plug the power back in. The 15-second rule with computers and hardware is surprisingly effective.

  • If you've set the DNS properly, your Roku should now (finally) connect to the Internet. When this happens, it will complete its setup process and you should be good to go.

Roku trouble

A default IP address for any device is 198.161.1.1 but you can set it to whatever as long as you leave the second number at 255.255.0.0
Like the IP can be 198.161.1.2 for example to keep devices from interfering with each other.
