SOURCE: replaced leaking trigger valve wit new valve kit.

I have seen many small bostitch guns all with different problems that did not shoot nails. Both of your guns have simillar triggers. You might try the trigger valve from the gun that works to see if that is the problem. Most no fire situations come from faulty trigger valve. The trigger valve used in your guns has a part that stays in the body of the gun; be sure to replace both parts. If still no fire check the following:
Remove the head and check if the piston/driver travels all the way down the cylinder with the tip of be blade showing at the nose. Some piston/drivers have a grove that must be aligned.

Check that the headvalve travels into the head and returns. Push the valve in with your thumb then cover the small vent hole at the base of the head where the gasket sits with your finger and release your thumb. The headvalve should be held in with vacuum then pop up when you remove your finger from the vent hole. If the headvalve does not stay pushed in with the vent covered, the orings are leaking and can cause the gun not to fire. Try lubing the headvalve with light grease such as silicone lube. Do not use bearing grease. Silicone lube is available in small amounts at plumbing supply/lumber outlets such as Lowes. It looks like wax feels like shortening.

Reassemble the gun and check your work. I test the gun with-out nails and without the trigger installed. Just place the nose of the gun on a piece of rubber, (I use a piece of heavy garden hose rolled up tightly into a coil) and press the trigger valve pin with your finger. The reason that I leave the trigger off is that sometimes the problem is caused by the safety mech not pushing the trigger pin correctly. enjoy

SOURCE: bostich nailer N79WWblows continous air

If the nailer is passing air from directly out of the trigger valve, it must be replaced (P/N-TVA11). If it is passing air from anywhere else, (eg back cap or front ) it needs an O-ring kit (P/N- ORK11)

SOURCE: I have a N60FN Bostitch nailer. It's loosing air

Your nailer uses a trigger valve part # tva6 (or tva1, but use tva6) (cost about $20) and is sold at www.bostitch.com or ebay for generic. If you have a source for orings, you could try to repair the valve. Remove the roll pin that holds the trigger to expose the tva6 valve. There are roll pin/pins that hold the valve in just above the valve in the body (Use punch for 3mm hole). Remove these pins and apply air pressure to gun to pop-out the valve. Use caution when you do this. Remove nails, lower pressure to gun and use glove or rag to catch valve because it could come out with force. Note the two grooves on the side of the valve where retainer roll pins hold valve. Remember to insert the valve with these two groves aligned with path of roll pins. With tva6 valve in hand remove two pins that hold valve together and remove inner plunger. The middle oring/seal on plunger is cause of leak. Try using an oring with smaller inside diameter than the broken or loose fintting seal that is present. It must fit pretty tight and be slightly thicker than 1/16" to work. Remove the outer orings to valve and clean and re-use same. Clean the valve port in body of gun and check for sharp edges to prevent cutting orings before inserting the valve. Use silicone lube or oring lube on the orings and the valve port (Danco silicone paste sold at Lowes in the plumbing department). Good Luck on your repair and email if you have other questions

SOURCE: bostich rn46 . gun will

Assuming that there are no leaks, remove head and pull headvalve. Look for fine scratches where oring contacts head. If there is a deep groove worn into head or scratched, sand with 400 grit paper to restore smooth surface. If badly worn replace head. Reinstall parts using silicone paste (looks like vaseline, sold at lowes in the plumbing department, used for faucet orings) )

SOURCE: N63 Bostich Nail Gun Trigger Assembly View

Here is the parts list for your gun:
http://www.toolpartsdirect.com/cgi-bin/schematic.cgi/bostitch/N63CP

The trigger valve is a tva6 and can be ordered from ebay. Generic valve works ok and saves money. I do not believe that individual parts are sold for the valve. If you have a source for orings, you could try to repair the valve. Remove the roll pin that holds the trigger to expose the tva6 valve. There are roll pin/pins that hold the valve in just above the valve in the body. Remove these pins and apply air pressure to gun to pop-out the valve. Use caution when you do this. Remove nails, lower pressure to gun and use glove or rag to catch valve because it could come out with force. With tva6 valve in hand remove two pins that hold valve together and remove inner plunger. The middle oring on plunger is cause of leak. Try using an oring about same size as the broken seat. It must fit pretty tight to work. If you had a small leak it could be that the firing pin orings fit too loose or just too worn. Use silicone lube or oring lube on the orings and the valve port. Good Luck on your repair and email if you have other questions

I have a bostich rn46 wont fire a nail just leaks air.put new trigger assembly in

depends on where the air is leaking from, if the top of cap you have a pinched o ring, from the bottom of tool you have a problem with the cylinder or seal, the trigger assembly has a broken o ring. Let me know where the air if coming from and I will try and help.

Sounds like a bad O ring. There are rebuild kits you can get with a new set of O rings. Or you can have it done for about $30-50.

My bostich framing nailer leaks air from top and will not shoot

do you already have the rebuild kit??. Could be a cut o ring the cylinder seal might be cracked , there are quite a few items to check, specifically where is the air coming from, the exhaust, if so then I would look for the items mentioned. It would be best to download a breakdown for the tool and if you are mechanically inclined start disassembly laying parts out in the order removed and also maybe take a few quick pics to help you in reassembly. they are not that hard to rebuild. Let me know and I will see about the breakdown and rebuild kit for you but I need the model number and give me some general area you are in and I will try and find parts somewhat locally

Have framing gun with split neoprene seal( TVA-11 Valve). What is the scam that we have to buy a thirty dollar valve kit as opposed to a thirty cent o-ring. This seems to be a scam. Bostich N80 SB

If the o-ring is the problem, you can get the o-rings separately. I believe that the o-ring kit runs about $12 and contains all of the rings. If hte problem is internal to the trigger assembly, the entire assembly should be replaced. I have replaced the o-rings twice and the trigger once in my N80 in 24 years of service .

Air comes out above trigger. Gun looses all pressure through here.

the o ring on the trigger valve is broken, if you can find a local repair shop ask them for a purple o ring from a rebuild kit or you will need to replace the trigger valve assembly.

Air is leaking around the trigger. N60FN. How do you replace it?

Yes, you have to drive out the pins. There currently is no rebuild kit. Depending on when your was built there are solutions though.
Carefully drive out the trigger pin first. Then the one retaining the trigger assembly. The trigger assembly is in there pretty good, carefully work it out. Once you remove it, there are two small steel pins holding it together. Remove those...careful there is a spring inside. You can see what's been compromised. Like I said, there don't make repair kits for these, but you can order a replacement assembly.

Good luck.

I have a bostich framing nail gun and as soon as i hook my air hose up to it the air comes directly out through where the driver is, dont even have to pull trigger, can u help, need gun operating to make...

The o-rings need to be replaced and/or the trigger assembly is defective. Look around at local lumber yards for a "Bostich days" promotion. Often with the purchase of a box of nails, the Bostich rep will "service" up to 2 guns for free. If this is not an option for you because of time, you can purchase the o-ring kit and replace the rings yourself. This is not a difficult repair. Also, be sure to lubricate the guns with pneumatic oil frequently as this will keep the rings lubtricated and prevent them from drying out and leaking.

Hope this helps,

Dan
