Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I have a Winchester Model OF1917, serial# 421987,can you tell me the caliber of this weapon?

1917 kinda indicates 30.06, unless someone has re-barrelled it.
Look at this Wiki page and see if yours looks like these and then take it to a gunshop for verification.

What caliber is my model 1917 serial number83773

Your 1917 was made in Dec. of 1917 and IF no one has
re-chambered/re-barreled it, it's a .30-06.
Here's a nice WikiPedia article on the evolution of the 1917.

Can you tell me when a colt anaconda serial number MM51530 was made?

http://www.colt.com/Customer-Services/Serial-Number-Lookup

doesn't list the Anaconda for serial 51530. There are some great scanned images from the Colt Catalogue here though and it would be a good place to ask as someone may have the book.

I have a Eddystone (Remington) 1917 rifle with serial # 1183417...I was wondering if you could tell me when it was exactly..?

Military Dates of Manufacture This link will take you to the general web page, select your Eddystone M1917 rifle and enter the number. It says yours was made in November of 1918. The U.S. Army discontinued the use of the M1917 in 1919 after they voted to keep the M1903 as the main service rife due to poor performance in shooting contests. Have fun with that awesome piece of American History and treat her well.

I wish to know the difference in the different 303's. I purchased a Lee Enfield approximately 50 years ago. I now must replace the stock and thought a synthetic would be the way to go. It has a squre bolt...

Hello Julien Mirault,

The whole point of a MILITARY MODEL ...
is for PARTS interchangeability... AMONG the
estimated 17 million produced... (Not rare).

To tell precisely which of the "303" models
you might have... you need
only read about the models below...
LeeEnfield Wikipedia

Three main characteristics (From 1895 to 1962)
- REAR Sight position & windage
- Clip FEEDING brace atop/rear of chamber
- Magazine capacity

Check at the Wiki article (above)...
or FEEDING "stripper clip" below...
Stripper clip Wikipedia

Searching on
the internet... once you have typed in "Enfield 303"
The only remaining concern you ought be
confronted with... is what "STYLE" synthetic
STOCK you will want... (personally I love the wood

My best advice would be to pay attention to
characteristics that would reduce the KICK
(pretty powerful) back of this rifle when fired.

Condition: That is truly a shame...
but AS the markings are mostly lost that means
the finish is likely also been worn away...
So from a "collectible" standpoint there is no
probable significance... (unless historic

The Lee Enfield "303" highly recognizable by
the very long barrel and FULL wood stock...

The 303 strikes a beautiful profile when converted
as a "hunting rifle" ... (like: Monte Carlo STOCK)
ATI 303 308 Enfield 1 Mk 3 Monte Carlo Stock

Parts are available everywhere (including AMAZON)
ENFIELD 303 RIFLE TOOL SET WITH 1 THREE POCKET POUCH AND 6 TOOLS CAL 303...

Hope this helps

Remington model of 1917

The U.S. Model 1917 rifle was only built from 1917 to 1919. Most were made in 1918. However, your serial # ( 4,079,800) doesn't fit any of the known serial number ranges for any of the 3 manufacturers. The highest serial # recorded was 1,354,701.
