SOURCE: PROJECTION TV HITACHI ULTRAVISION COLOR CONVERGENCE PROBLEM

it sounds like your blue convergence ic is getting weak you need to replace the ic's STK392-110 and you should replace both because when 1 is bad the other will go real soon. They are inexspensive at the sight I posted and you will also get free tech online support if you purchase them there.

SOURCE: HITACHI ULTRAVISION 50v500

the problem is most likely a defective light engine, it is a very commen problem with these tvs. hitachi is not very forthcoming with information or help unless your still under warrenty, i have talked with a few people about this and have found a lawyer starting a class action suit, if interested here is a segment of another conversation with all the info to get you started. " let other Hitachi TV owners know about the Class Action Lawsuit against Hitachi regarding the defective optical light engine. They need to call the Law Firm in Dallas Texas, HORP & B, that you mentioned is handling the case and talk to Victor @ 1-877-308-7900. They are taking documentation and cases regarding this suit and people that feel like they have been treated unfairly wherein Hitachi denied sending them a new optical light engine @ n/c need to call and state their case. "
good luck with your problems

Hey darrin_wilki, my name is Mike Houston and I was reading over yourpost and see where the Hitachiscreen is heavy on the greens and yellows. You will want to make sure thereceiver is set correctly, by pressing the buttons of MENU-6-7 and make surethe TV Type and Aspect Ratio are the same as on the TV. If the settings are thesame as they are on the TV then please fallow these steps in the link I amsending, http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/distorted-video.If you have any questions please e-mail me at michael.houston@dishnetwork.com.

Tv doesnt turn on and the lamp bulb is blinking

Hi,

I recently replaced my lamp in my Hitachi 50VG825 TV and the red light was continually blinking for the lamp. The manual tells us to make sure that the lamp is screwed in tightly. I opened the covered and sure enough the screws needed to be tightened.

Try that and make sure you replace the tv cover. Hopefully this will work out for you like it did for me.
