SOURCE: Frequent thermal shutdown when viewing

This is most likely because of a blocked/ dusty fan, worn out thermal paste, broken temperature sensor or a failed fan. This is a common problem among HP laptops.
Try taking the machine to a trusted repair center and explain the problem. They will be able to open the machine, inspect for faults and clean the cooling system and replace parts as necessary. Because this problem includes moving parts it is most likely not covered by warranty.
If you are confident enough to open the machine and carry out the repair yourself, try using the technical repair manual on the link below to help you.

Hope this helps!

How can I fix thermal shutdown of Acer b1-730?

Could be the CPU needs new thermal paste and reseating.this is usually a fail safe designed to protect the computer when the CPU is getting too hot.also check the cooling fan ......blocked vents as this may also cause overheating issues thus not cooling the internals which will activate thermal shutdown.

Hp laptop random shutdown - overheat?

Your CPU is likely overheating. Very likely the thermal conducting material between the CPU chip and the heatsink may have shrunk and now impeades the thermal transfer.
You may need to remove the heatsink and put new thermal paste and perhaps copper shim to restore the thermal contact to the heatsink.

Computer is switching of frequently

Try changing the cmos battery on the motherboard.
OR your PC could be overheating, check your bios to see if the thermal shutdown temperature is set too low.(assuming you can get into the bios)
Recommend new thermal paste on cpu, ensure fan/s are working.

CPU fan stops, computer shuts down

You must have the CPU fan plugged into the CPU fan power connector or the system can not monitor the fans speed. Your PC will shut down & give you that message. (The fan must be connected to the correct power plug).
If when you did replace the CPU's fan & had to remove the heat sink, which is where the fan screws into & did not clean the old thermal grease off the CPU & heatsink & replace with new thermal grease than your CPU will still overheat. If you add thermal grease over top of old thermal grease your CPU will over heat.
This is all a balancing act. If any one is not correct your system will shut down. (This is better than killing the CPU).
To remove old thermal grease use a clean cloth damped with house hold alcohol & use the same on the bottom of the heatsink. Please allow plenty of time for the alcohol to dry.

Good Luck! Take your time.
