05 lancer 2.4l serpentine belt keeps fraying. had someone look at it and they said it could be the ac pulley is out of alignment. suggested ac pump or clutch?

You must check for wear and alignment on the pulley with a straight edge like a steel ruler/yard stick. Likely you will find a bad bearing in the tensioner pulley or the crankshaft pulley is separating from the inner ring and walking outward.

Belt fraying

the idler pulley is more than likely broken and is what caused the original belt to break to begin with, take the machine back apart and check the pulley for chips and sharp or rough areas

My gear cable has snapped - frayed at the changer end, & I need to push the frayed end out to replace the cable, & I am having difficulty. Help please

Get a pair of dikes to cut the frayed end of the cable from the cable, then the cable will slide out of the cable housing. If you have jammed the frayed end of the cable into the cable housing and you can't get to the other end of the cable to pull it out, use a clothes hanger to push the cable out.

The cable came off for my power window

definetly have to remove the inner. i would have to imagine that if it came off then you have to replace it, it is probably frayed or twisted. if it is frayed or twisted, there is no way to fix it. you have to replace it.
