Install or reinstall on a PC or MacThe first time you start your new computer you are prompted to register. One of the questions on this screen asks if you agree to share information with McAfee. If you select this option, your LiveSafe products is automatically set up for you as part of your normal setup process. If you do not select this option, you can still activate your LiveSafe product later by selecting the McAfee tile and creating (or logging in to) a McAfee account.
If you purchased a LiveSafe retail card, you can redeem your purchase using the steps in TS101807.
You can watch a short demonstration of the install process on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRpHiFheHJg.
  1. Open a web browser and go to http://home.mcafee.com from the additional Mac or PC you are installing on.
  2. Click Log In.
  3. Type your email address and password, and click Log In.

    If you do not have a McAfee account, select New User? Register Now, follow the prompts to create your McAfee account, and click Log In.

    If you want the website to remember your user name in the future, select Remember Me.
  4. Click My Account.
    You see the install helper, which allows you quick access to protect your devices.
  5. Select the (+) icon.
  6. Select the correct LiveSafe product subscription, and then click Download.

    NOTE: You can also choose to install additional protection programs you have purchased, such as McAfee SafeKey and Personal Locker from this product subscription selection.
  7. Read the End User License Agreement (EULA) and click I Agree to accept the terms and continue to the download and installation.
  8. Follow the onscreen instructions to install and configure your McAfee software on your computer.

  1. Open a web browser and go to the link (URL) on your retail card.
  2. Select your country and language from the drop-down menu.
    NOTE: While the registration page tries to select the correct region, the data chosen may be incorrect. Please confirm the information.
  3. Carefully enter the registration number from your retail card.
  4. Type your email address and click Submit.
  5. Ensure your email address is correct, then click Verify.
