Question about Audio Players & Recorders

Rockola cd8b - the gripper pops up just enough at the end of the song that it misses the cd, leaving it on the CD player. Is there an adjustment that can be made?

Check the main gears at the bottom of the gripper arm as these get gummed up and need to be free.It sounds like it has not finished it's cycle as the last bit is dropping the arm. WATCH YOUR FINGERS as the motor won't stop until the switch is hit on the cam at the back of the tone arm.

Unless you are very tech savy and know what you are looking at the gripper can not be aligned without speciality tools. You can see if everything seems to be aligning correctly by removing the CD box cover and slip in a CD and watch the spindle and gripper come together but be very careful that you don't get flashed by the laser could cause eye damage. Also being careful when pulling apart and putting back together not to warp anything which could leave the CD play useless.

Hello, I have a problem with WURLITZER 1015 OMT CD 100D. The arm go to pick up the CD, but returns in the same time as it lock the cd in the gripper.Result is the CD is supported on two points instead of 3...

The carousel is locked in position by the latch at the front (about 6 oclock). If the gripper isn't exactly in line with the cd then you need to adjust the latch a bit.

OMT Gripper Issue

There's a spring wound round the shaft of the rod that drives the gripper gears. Oil very lightly. The gearbox rotates when it puts the arm back but the arm is held against the driving part by this spring so if it is sticking the arm will not turn over properly even if the drive shaft is doing what it is supposed to.

I asked a Wurlitzer engineer about this problem and he simply said, "Bend it a bit."

Sounds horrible but there is no genuine adjustment. But before doing that, try moving the carousel lock latch (at the 5 oclock position). This is what locks the carousel and determines its position when the correct CD number is reached. If you could ****** or advance it a little it might work.
