I have a Thetford C400. Have fitted a SOG vent system and now I can only flush with Flap shut.

Have changed over the wires thinking that would do it but no. Fan runs fine when I open the flap and shuts off when shut. Our toilet water is feed from the main water pump of the Van. Can you hell? Cheers les

SOURCE: When it is windy outside the flap on my exhaust

Not likely, Just a condition of the location of the vent and the wind direction.Putting a secondary larger hood over the outside exposure will sometimes help alleviate this.

SOURCE: My toilet flushes inconsistenly. one time it goes

I have worked on these for many years. The flapper that's attached to the chain and handle, sometimes drops to soon before the tank gets to fill up enough to flush completely. If the flapper has not been changed for some time, it would be a good time now. I wouldn't change out the toilet unless it is cracked. This is a well made one, and I would want to keep it.

SOURCE: 99 jeep cherokee problem w/ heat

It could be a flap but more likely you have a air trapped in the heater core or the hoses connecting the heater core when refilled the system after your repair.
Loosen the supply hose that go to the heater core at the highest point and run engine until coolant comes out.

SOURCE: Toilet flushing problem!

The siphon mechanism works on a vacuum principle. If there is the slightest damage to the siphon membrane you will experience the problem you describe. A new siphon is required.

SOURCE: soap dispenser flap not opening

Not a solution but exactly the same problem. I should have sent the machine back (I bought mine about 2008 too) but by now, 2010, the machine is a complete waste of time and money. The soap dispenser fails to open every time, wasting money, water and my patience because I then have to hand wash after all. will try the suggested oil trick, but it was obviously a bad design to start with.

Why does the flap close before water flushes

the flapper is pushed down too far on the vent tube. leave about 1/2 inch of space between the bottom of the flapper flange when you seat it over the vent tube. make sure the flapper is level. if the flapper is too close to the bottom of the vent tube, it will slam shut before the flush is finished.

I have a thetford N80 fridge fitted in my motorhome that pops the rcd until I cool it down using gas

it is drawing too much current and is a fire risk
there is a live wire touching the metal frame or the motor has locked up.
the rcd is saving you from having a fire or being electrocuted
can you find a local dealer who can diagnose/repair?

Our electric flush toilet growls when the flap is being open and when it closes

Growl is the masticator chewing up solids. There is no flap so to speak, but a pump carrying waste to holding tank. Sound is normal.

Go to www.thetford.com.

Wiring of C2 has fuse, safety switch, flush switch and flush pump in series. If fuse is blown you probably need to replace pump. Instructions come with replacement pump.

Dryer's vent hose Problem

Wait for the dryer to cool. Unplug the vent hose and inspect its entire length for snags in the pipe. Make sure the vent is not obstructed on the outside wall, and fit a flap or screen to keep out small animals. If your vent pipe is punctured or damaged, you should replace it.
