Camera won,t turn on or take a charge

If there is a firmware solution on Insignis-Products, you might be able to restore the camcorder to life that way.

However, if the unit won't turn on at all...even when a USB AC charger is used where it should function normally and completely...there is a problem with the camcorder and it may be bricked.

I hope this helps and I hope your camcorder isn't bricked.

Insignia camcorder will not turn on

You can try plugging in a headphone plug into the A/V port to see if it's a stuck switch (A/V port can sometimes turn off the video to the LCD display).

Otherwise thsi sounds like a loose data ribbon to the LCD. You'll need a small screwdriver and lots of patience to disassemble the unit and put the data cable back in place. If this doesn't solve the problem, then there's a more serious issue like a failed solder joint or a bad component.

Has this unit ever been dropped or banged around?

Hope this helps!

Camcorder will not turn on.

I'm not a technician, but we just sent our AG-DVC7 to a repair shop. For $45.00 they told me the CCD Unit and the CCD board were bad. they wanted $250.00 for parts alone. The camera is 8 yrs. old and I don't see a $400-500 repair as a good investment, as the new unit is only $1000.00

Insignia camcorder wont turn on

If you have replaced the batteries and the unit will still not power on, it may require service. You may take the camcorder to the store of purchase to request repairs. The camcorder has a limited warranty of one year from the date of purchase, so your repair may be covered if within that period. I hope this helps.

Problem with Sony DCR-TRV25 camcorder

Your code indicates that the supply reel is not turning or is not supplying a pulse so that the camcorder "thinks" it's turning. Hard to say why that's happening without seeing the camcorder. Is there a tape stuck in the unit?

Try connecting your camera to your power outlet, then turn on the unit.

If camcorder turns on when connected to the power outlet, you may replace your battery.

However, if unit is still not working, consider sending your camcorder to Samsung Service Center.

LCD problem...

Most of our camcorders have an option to turn the LCD brightness up or down but not to turn the LCD off. If the brightness is turned up and the LCD will not turn on, the battery may be very low, or the unit may require service. The following Articles provide model specific instructions for making LCD adjustments. The majority of Samsung archived camcorders use the same instructions as the article for the SC-D103/SC-D107.
