I have a kenmore 7120. The cord will not wind up.. I have taken it apart and I can get it to wind half way up. Is there anything else that I can be done.

First, make sure the mechanism isn't so loaded with dust that friction is dragging it to a halt before it should. If the spring mechanism appears to be working properly, manually wind the power cord on the spool just enough so you'll have a small amount of tension on the cord when you put everything back together. It's possible the spring has become weak with use, but a rewind may let you get some more life out of it before have to replace it.

Repair retractable cord

Depending on which model of Electrolux you have and how far out you have pulled out the cord (most of the Electrolux canisters have a yellow tape around the machine end of the cord to alert you not to pull it out any further), you might have to take it apart to fix it. However, the first thing that I would try would be to stand it on the end (the hose end at the top), and pull short jerks on the cord to see if it will correct itself and retract. If that does not fix it, I would stick a screwdriver in the hole where the cord comes out of the machine and attempt to wind the cord reel back up which will slowly wind the cord back up on the cordwinder. This usually cause the cord to wind back up. If that does not work, then the only option is to take the machine apart to fix it.

Tape is stuck in vcr

Someone will have to take it apart---usually it is a problem with the mechanism that loads/unloads the tape or the transport mechanism that moves the tape---the latter winds the tape back into the cassette and if fails it will hang up and or mangle the tape.

Have old Mickey Mouse self winding watch. Bought

I will explain from the last question asked. To get it going you have to visit your nearest watch repair shop and ask for estimate. Shop owner told you things he/she do not understand at all - self winding watches CAN NOT BE OVERWOUND, so, there is the question: are you sure this watch is self winding? I've experience of 26 years of watchmaking and have never came across Mickey Mouse watches having self winding movements. As far as I know, all MM watches are battery driven, but in case if you really have the mechanical one - you are lucky. That means there were past times when those watches were fitted with mechanical movements and now they are rarities. Even if your watch is not self winding, but is mechanical (not battery driven), visit your nearest watch repair shop and ask to check this watch out. In case if it is mechanical - pay the money and get it fixed (you will be a winner anyway). If it is battery driven - put it on your shelf where your's mother in law picture is and treat it accordingly. Rate me , plz.

The wind up mechanism doesn't work

So I am assuming you have a mechanical watch then that does not use a battery. But then again you could have a self winding watch that has a "wind-up" mechanism. If you have a valuable watch then take it to a good repair shop. If you have an inexpensive watch then get a new one. If you have a watch worth less than $50 and you really like it and want it fixed, then a shop can put in a new movement for you. Best of Luck

If it does not wind automatically or with the turning of the crown then something is not working in the winding mechanism. If this is a new watch it needs to be sent to the store where purchased for a replacement. If it is not new but under warranty it should be sent to the manufacturer.

If it is out of warranty it can be serviced by a watchmaker. Generally if the watch won't wind it could be a broken mainspring, a broken wheel in the winding mechanism, a broken auto wind weight or even a screw that has come loose and is blocking the weight or gear train of the winding mechanism.

There isn't an easy fix that you could do to get this running.

Hope this helps,

1999 vw beetle. blinkers, wind shield wipers not working.

check your ground conections under the dash first. and if they look ok take them apart and clean them anyway, and if the problem is still not fixed look for what all of these systems have in common. i would suspect the grounds though its common on vw problems.
