Just had the factory stereo taken out and an aftermarket one put in, had a buddy do it and he cut the factory wiring harness off that's runs into the factory stereo. Is there any possible fix?

Hey, you would be better off to look for your yr/make/model car at a scrap yard and get them to cut plug off with longer wires, then require them together, had to do it with my truck. Hope this helps

I need awireing diagram for a premiun sound (jbl) stereo with cd player for a 93 thunderbird

you should get a wiring harness to save you the trouble, however i just put in a kenwood in a 1997 thunderbird, if you cut the black wiring cover all the speaker wires are wrapped together and the other wires will be 12v constant acc, ground, etc. here is a diagram Car Radio Battery Constant 12v+ Wire: Green/Yellow
Car Radio Accessory Switched 12v Wire: Yellow/Black
Car Radio Ground Wire: Black/Light Green
Car Radio Illumination Wire: Blue/Red
Car Stereo Dimmer Wire: N/A
Car Stereo Antenna Trigger Wire: Orange/Blue
Car Stereo Amp Trigger Wire: N/A
Car Stereo Amplifier Location: N/A

Car Audio Front Speakers Location: Doors
Left Front Speaker Positive Wire : Orange/Green
Left Front Speaker Negative Wire : Black/White
Right Front Speaker Positive Wire : White/Green
Right Front Speaker Negative Wire : Black/White
Car Audio Rear Speakers Size: 5x 7 speakers
Car Audio Rear Speakers Location: Side Panels
Left Rear Speaker Positive Wire : Pink/Green
Left Rear Speaker Negative Wire : Pink/Blue
Right Rear Speaker Positive Wire : Pink/Blue
Right Rear Speaker Negative Wire : Green/Orange

1995 camaro z28 audio problems

Hi Jamie, Here's an old trick which you may find useful. Take a run down flashlight cell and confirm the wiring to the speakers by holding the earthing line of the speaker cable to the negative and flash the positive side with the feed to the speaker one at a time. With each swipe you will hear a thump from each speaker as you connect and disconnect. In that way you can confirm the cables are the ones you are connecting. Color coding is not always the same. Use a voltage test meter to confirm the constant power and ignition power and don't forget to earth the set once all other connections have been made, Withour an earth it won't work, but you know that anyway. Regards John

82 camaro z28 radio wiring

I hope you didn,t cut off your original factory radio harness, The easist way is to buy a wireing harness adapter kit. That hooks up to the wires on your new deck, End has plugs on it that plug into your factory radio harness. They can be braught at most places that sell end install car audio equipment for $15to $25 at the most.

What is the wire color code for a2001 malibu stereo. i would like to put an after market stero in?

if you havent taken the factory stereo out of the vehicle yet, if were you i would go to an auto store and buy wiring harness that plugs into your factory harness, that gives you all the colors to match up with your aftermarket... that way nothing gets cut on or messed up... and with the electical stuff linked to the stereo system, trust me you dont want a headache like that... a harness kit only cost like 15 bucks, plus if you ever wanted to get rid of the vehicle you could take your aftermarket stereo out, and plug the factory one right back in... hope this helps

Need a stereo wiring diagram to reinstall factory stereo in my 93 toyota windom

You shouldn't need a wiring diagram, your factory plug should still be in behind the aftermarket stereo harness, unplug the aftermarket harness and your factory plug plugs directly into the factory harness.... hope this helps..

Not for sure if I can help.Someone forgot the golden rule.NEVER CUT THE WIRING HARNESS.I dont have the wiring scematics in front of me but the older models had RED for power,BLACK for ground, and the wiring going to the spreakers should be an off color running together going to the speakers.Probably has a six speaker system.Hope I helped.

When my daughter turns her car audio off, we loose preset stations.

Two questions to narrow this down - one, is it an aftermarket stereo, or a factory one? Two, with the key out of the car, can the stereo be turned on?

If it's aftermarket and it powers on when the key is off, then it's likely two wires are reversed in the harness behind the deck - the constant 12v wire and the switched 12v wire. The constant one is the yellow one, which always supplies power to the deck, keeping power there for the preset memory and the tone settings. The ignition-switched one is so that when the key is turned off, the stereo shuts off (this is the red wire on the harness). If these were reversed, the stereo would always be able to be turned on, and power to the memory settings would be lost when the key is turned off.
