Question about Sewing Machines
Check that the feed dogs are actually moving under the presser foot and that they are rising above the needle plate to grab the fabric. If not, then perhaps the feed dogs have been dropped, as for darning when the user manually manipulates the fabric. Also, make sure the stitch length is set high enough to actually create stitches with some length.

is the problem the fabric is not moving forward but staying in one spot? which would mean the feeddogs need to be checked to see what position there in --up for sewing---down for darning
or the thread is not feeding into the machine?
