Great this is good information. I believe it to be one of two issues.
1) The thermocouple (rod that sticks into the flame) is dirty. You can clean this with some steel wool or light sandpaper.
2) If solution #1 does not work then I will say that we have a faulty gas valve (assuming that the gas content and pressure into the house are ok). These are usually pretty generic and can be purchased at your local Grainger (or the like) supply house. Make sure that you are familiar with all of the components involved and read the directions before you remove the old one. If you are not comfortable with this task PLEASE call a licensed technician over. Thanks and good luck!

It may be your thermostat, but try this first to see if time delay relay may be sticking. When it won't shut off, turn propane off, and go outside and unscrew the 2 screws that hold your cover on, and lower the cover down. Look straight ahead, attached to the housing of the fan up near top you'll see a square relay (time delay relay) with 4 male spade connectors, and wires attached to each. It's usually held on with 2 Philips screws. Give it a little rap with the handle of a screwdriver or similar a couple of times, and see if fan stops running. While your there as well, pull the wiring connector off the ignition board, and put back on a couple of times, to clean the connections. Now try it again, and let me know what happens.
