Question about Canon EOS 600D Rebel T3i Digital Camera
There is a minimum focus distance on lenses and if you are within that distance the lens will not focus. First of all just try cleaning the contacts on the lens and the camera with a pencil eraser. If that doesn't work then are you able to focus the lens manually. If so and it won't focus in auto mode then you may have a broken ribbon cable in the lens. It is a simple relatively inexpensive repair/replacement job if that is what is needed.
