Your LCD panel has failed, common problem with older Samsung's and Sony's. It will cost more to replace the panel vs. buying a new TV set. If I have helped you please sign my guestbook!

My Sony Bravia KDF-E50A12U has a ghost effect when I play the ps3 or xbox 360. Strangley my virgin media HD box gives a fantastic picture. I have tried the 360 and ps3 on other tv's and they work fine....

Ok, firstly, disclaimer.

This "solution" utilises a "service" menu, that only trained engineers should use. You are not one, you are an "end user". biggrin.gif So am I, but I paid attention. wink.gif

Use of this information is entirely at your own risk, you mess up your telly, it's your own silly fault. Don't go messing with stuff in there you don't know about.

Ok.

To bring up the "service" menu, put the TV in standby mode, then press in sequence :

Onscreen Display ( the little screen with the i+ in it )
5 ( channel number 5 )
Volume Up ( upper end of volume button )
Analogue ( middle top button )

The TV should switch on and when it's warmed up, you should see a screen with lots of big green lettering on it.

Press the "menu" button ( middle bottom )

Use the direction dial to move down to "LCD Drivers" and press right on the dial to enter this menu.

Move down to "S H Pos Reg R". It should be "10", change it to "11". ( Left/Right to adjust )
Move down to "S H Pos Reg G". It should be "10", change it to "11".
Move down to "SHPos Reg B". It should be "10", change it to "11". (it's on the next "page", keeping scrolling down the menu)

Press the menu button to drop out of the menus, and the standy button to drop to standby. Switch back on, and hopefully your ghosting will be gone.

Ghost on the screen one is a circle in the middle of the screen, the size of a quarter, the second is a black could the size 2"x 5"

Usually when you get this "ghost effect" the caused by signals reflecting from large buildngs. To improve move antenna for best reception or install an aerial wit a small pick up front print.
Or check you have the correct aerial for the tv installed.

Mitsubishi wd52525 problems

i have thought about this since you first posted it. if the demo is good then the light engine is ok. it sounds like a problem in the chassis. probably on the DM and the terminal board. to repair the chassis would cost about $250.00 plus shipping.
