Probably not. If it is specifically for Sony. Otherwise you can purchase a disc from Fleabay quite cheaply.

Im with Jon. I think it will start the process but the disc you have will be looking for Vaio components. When it does not find one it will stop the install and ask for you to insert the disc that has the information it is looking for. wont hurt anything to try but pretty sure you will not have any luck. Only because the disc is specific and not a general windows 7 install or upgrade disc.

A Windows installation or Windows Upgrade installation disk from any PC manufacturer will work on ANY manufacturer's PC/laptop. Windows install/upgrade disks do not have machine-specific drivers included. They often have manufacturer-specific branding (logo and online support programs), but if you don't mind seeing some SONY folders or logos, then as long as the upgrade key is legitimate, then you can use the upgrade on your Toshiba.
I've done this between Dell/Sony/HP desktops and laptops several times.

Do you mean you want to upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 7?
First you should check it your laptop will work with Windows 7.
You can run a Windows 7 upgrade advisor to check if your computer is suitable for Windows 7.
Click on this link to download the check upgrade program :- http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?familyid=1b544e90-7659-4bd9-9e51-2497c146af15&displaylang=en
If it is OK to install Windows 7 then you need to purchase a Windows 7 upgrade installation disc.

Is not starting by window vista

Windows Vista is no longer the current operating system supported by Microsoft. Try to upgrade or get a full copy of Windows 7. Windows 7 works a lot better than Windows Vista did. If you have the discs for Windows Vista, then try ot reinstall, but, again, Windows 7 is the current operating system for Microsoft.

Instaling windows 7 in vaio laptop have vista orginal windows how solving the problem in instaling windows 7?

if your system came with vista originally the issue would be is you would need to know what version of vista you have on your system, the version makes the difference if you have vista home premium then your windows 7 should be a win7 Home premium as well, because if you are upgrading vista using your win7 disc and your windows version are different for example you have vista Home premium and your win7 is win7 ultimate and you do an upgrade the problem will be your product key,

but if you have a retail version of win7 and you are installing it on your laptop Vaio insert the disc in the DVD-drive win7 needs a DVD reader to be able to install win7 if you have a cd-rom it wont work, then turn the laptop off power it back up keep on tapping f12 it should bring you a boot menu, select ODD or which ever is your dvd drive then press enter then enter again if it says on the screen press any key to boot to CD, this should begin win7 installation on the screen saying windows is loading files the so on ans so fort ^_^ this will over write everything in vista but in win7 it will still create a windows.old folder from vista only from the my documents folder my picture and my music and my video and desktop Items but remember application icons will not work on win7 you may need to reinstall the program again for it to work on win7 and yeah make sure that you choose custom/advance in the selection screen do no select upgrade unless you vista and win7 are the same version eg. Vista Home premium / Win7 Home premium ^_^

I'd suggest ring back Sony support and tell them that your OS is Windows 7 - not Vista. Therefore, you need the upgraded VGA driver because the Vista driver is incompatible with Windows 7. Hope it all goes well. If my suggestion works for you, please do rate me. Thanks

Upgrade to vista ultimate

If you have a full version of Windows Vista Ultimate, you can just insert the DVD when you logged in your laptop and go to Computer(My Computer) and lauch the installer for Windows on DVD icon (Double Click DVD icon). It will give you the main window for installing Windows and along the way, you should find an Upgrade option. Click that one and it will install windows Ultimate on your system. It Will not format the laptop but installer will just add system files and features to the laptop to run Vista Ultimate.

**If you haven't purhcase a Windows Vista Ultimate Disc, check this link to to purchase just an upgrade Disc (only) of Vista Ultimate.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-vista/get/anytime-upgrade-overview.aspx

An upgrade disc will also not format the laptop instead it will just install additional features and add additional files on the system to run Windows Vista Ultimate
